In 1987, Steve Rothstein bought a lifetime unlimited first-class American Airlines pass for $250,000. He took over 10,000 flights, costing the airline an estimated $21 million. In 2008, American Airlines terminated his pass, accusing him of fraud for booking flights under fake names.

Lol why would he need to use fake names if he has lifetime unlimited? Also, how would he use fake names to fly in 2008?

I think it was for companion seats to keep the seat next to him open.

Wait, you're right. He can book and the fake person doesn't have to show up. I get it now.
