Yes! I prefer Chara to be ultra dead throughout the story. If narrachara was canon in a way people portray it then it would lessen the whole "chara has been dead for a long time" thing because it would mean that they were always there at all times even while Asriel was saying this.

Well, first off I would like to say that I don't feel that Chara loving monsters is a baseless headcanon. I can definitely see how someone could look at the context of the game and come to that conclusion.

That said, to me it feels like a case of A is true so B must be true. Chara hates humanity so they must love monsters. But there's really nothing in the game that PROVES this. The plan to free monsters doesn't necessarily mean that Chara has any love or fondness for them.

This is my own personal headcanon, but I feel like Chara is the type of person who has trouble forming attachments to others. I do believe that they were, in their own way, 'fond' of the Dreemurr family. But they are also someone who is obsessed with efficiency and is willing to go to extremes to realize their plans, including hurting others.

Well, yeah I agree Chara defenetly preffered monsters. But to say they loved them dosen't really sound like that much of a streach so I don't get why someone would dislike that sentiment.

That Chara possessed Frisk during the Geno rout. With what we now know via DR, we can actually tell far easier that it’s most likely Frisk, warped by LOVE, doing those things, rather than Chara. We’ve seen them act and talk on their own during neutral and pacifist, but only rarely. There is a whole rabbit hole here, lol

When frisk looks in a mirror they say "it's me chara" and when frisk unlocks the chain in new home they say "I unlocked the chain".
