He goes into character for Dallas Beltway like he's actually devastated and disgusted at what he's done, it really makes the live performance creepy as fuck.

Love the live at Roadburn version where he ad libs “I’m so fucking sorry” during the breakdown at the end

I love Dallas Beltway because it’s all about the feeling you feel after doing something horrible. The shame, the fear, the guilt, and the panic, I’ve never heard a song that talks about that feeling before

I've always chosen to read that song as a vegan song. idk if the band is vegan or vegetarian or just horrified by slaughterhouses but yeah holy fuck, that song is heavy

Grimace or a tear for lucas

Tear is utterly heartbreaking, maybe the most heartbreaking song they’ve ever written, but unsettling? IMO not really

I Don't Care If I Burn.
I do not care what anyone says, the haunting stanzas, and the sound direction on that track is visceral, and puts you in the space of the assailed. Truly a haunting and haunted body of work.

Shame really unsettled me late pregnancy and early postpartum. You’d think Dallas Beltway would but honestly the reality of the lyrics of “broken tiny bodies holding tiny still hearts, there’s a myriad of ways to destroy human skin” just got me.

It was so heartbreaking until I realized that the lyrics were about Friday the 13th lol

That’s funny my friend had the exact same reaction when he found out it was about that. It does slightly water it down

Crawlspace, specifically once he starts talking about the dog. For some reason that’s the only one that makes me feel legitimately uncomfortable. Kinda sucks because I love that song otherwise.

grimace for sure, dude has an existential crisis and offs himself at the end

It’s like they recorded someone having a schizophrenic meltdown and put it over a song lol

Crawlspace, because we all know that fuckin" guy. Ray gets that description down so succinctly ("workin' on muh abs"), it's terrifying. He's your sister's ex-boyfriend. He's examining your kid's car seat. He's waiting for hot curly fries at the head of the Arby's drive-thru.

Those screams on the breakdown of PEN I S MALL are some of the most horrific screams I’ve heard all decade. They sound like the screaming Ray refers to in Slaughterhouse

Tapes. All I can think about is the Epstein saga wherever he cries “they made tapes.” It wasn’t enough to do terrible despicable things to someone, the evildoer recorded that shit to rewatch it and relive it.
Terrifying.

For me it's wicked puppet dance. It gives me the same feeling I got when I saw red dragon for the first time, specifically the part where dollarhyde burns his house down to fake his death. Just creepy af
