Rebecca St. James' Pray tour in May 1999. I enjoyed the songs. At the time Rebecca was my favorite female contemporary Christian Music singer. Halfway through the concert there was a Question and Answer segment. Fans could ask questions. Rebecca spoke about getting serious about following Jesus. The song Omega was performed towards the end of the concert. Rebecca invited the audience to sing along to the chorus

May the grace of our Lord be with you
Now and always, may you stay
Blameless 'til He comes
May the love of our Lord be with you
Now and always, may you stay
Blameless 'til He comes

It was very powerful.

After the concert I queued up to meet Rebecca. I said "hello" and had my photo taken with her. I thanked her and said it was good to meet her. She smiled.

Bleach had three album released prior to the 2000’s (Space, Static, and self-titled) I remember learning guitar at 14 and trying to learn the chords to songs like Perfect Family, Space, Super Good Feeling, Warp Factor Five, Once Again Here We Are, etc…. Got to see Bleach a handful of times in Southern Illinois; they were an early favorite band of mine.

Back in the 90s Richard Smallwood just released his new album Live in Atlanta 1996 and there was a high chance that it was on the wow gospel 1996 commercial and his song total praise was at the very end of the commercial

When Third Day was small they came to a local Christian book store. A friend of mine worked there and I think no one showed to see them. My friend invited them to our college Bible study held in the home of our college leaders. Mac and Mark gave us a private show in the college leader's living room. I went to Atlanta fest the next year and Mark remembered us. I knew from that experience that they were going to go somewhere. I think they did Love Song but I'm not sure what else. It was 1995 I believe.

First mosh pit I ever experienced was Blenderhead opening for MxPx at a church. Fantastic show. Got a CD and t shirt for like $15 or something.

I got to see Newsboys and Third Days few times. Also Jars of Clay, SCC, Geoff Moore & the Distance, Plankeye, Rebecca St. James, Audio Adrenaline, Big Tent Revival, Christafari, The Waiting, Carman, and probably a few more I have forgotten.

Concerts were always a lot of fun. Our local Christian radio station was affiliated with a local church, and they always let their people in first to cut lines if there was no assigned seating.

During a Third Day performance (opening for the Newsboys), the radio station owner kept trying to make everyone sit down and be quiet. Mac Powell was not having any of that! Radio guy finally quit trying because it was obviously a lost cause. 😂

I still listen to all of these performers, along with a lot of Rich Mullins. Another one I still listen to is Susan Ashton.

Christafari is a name I haven't heard / thought about in decades. Boomerang. Whoa...

North Louisiana? If so, I was there!

"You naughty little Christians thinking you're at a rock and roll concert."
