I just buy whatever I have the most shards of, because the feeling of getting the full evo in a 5 star drop for a card that you are only missing one shard for sucks.

Just get one for a card that you currently use in your main deck. Unless you want to change decks then pick one that’s versatile in many decks. Snowball, zap, canon, and skeletons can work in a ton of decks. But if you use log bait for example then get barrel or dart goblin.
