So stop reporting YouTube channels that talk about Classic Horror movies. T-shirt posts are still not allowed. Bootlegged/stollen IP merchandise isn’t allowed. Links to sales are mostly not allowed, unless you’re selling your original artwork…and these will still be highly moderated. Once again, whoever is reporting every nearly every post here, please knock it off.

"We'll begin with a reign of terror, a few murders here and there, murders of great men, murders of little men - well, just to show we make no distinction. I might even wreck a train or two... just these fingers around a signalman's throat, that's all."

The Invisible Man (1933) Excellent film about a scientist who finds a way of becoming invisible, but with the side effect of making him insane.

There is no high quality version of the Dracula trailer so I cut this together from 1080p clips and new title cards. I believe this is the 1951 re-release version by Realart Pictures.

Discussion An Appreciation Post for Universal's Monster Movies

Since the start of spooky season, I've been watching Universal's Monster movies. Starting with Dracula (1931) and going in chronological order, I've gotten to experience the horror and frights of some of Hollywood's best monsters, madmen, and supernatural foes. Having never seen any of these movies before, my experience has been nothing but fun! I've loved every movie I've seen and have come to form a deep appreciation for the creative minds who worked so hard to make these movies happen. Huge shoutout to the late, always great, Dwight Frye! He has easily become my favorite part of these films. He and Edward Van Sloan really have taken my heart!

From the special effects to the musical scores, these films have slowly become some of my favorites. There's such an appeal about them that they can be watched regardless of the Halloween season being around the corner. I loved the whole atmosphere of Dracula. I adored the makeup and costuming of Frankenstein. I was in awe of the story found in The Invisible Man. I was mystified by The Mummy and it's use of stage scenery. The Wolf Man made me feel sorry for the monster and the man alike. Even Werewolf of London made me think more about the age old question: what makes a man a monster, or vice-versa.

The sequels, even, have been a joy to watch. Honestly, I didn't realize they made so many! With some being better than others (sorry The Invisible Woman...), I think they all have their place and have cemented their legacies.

As of now, it is onto The Invisible Agent for me! And I must say, I'm looking forward to seeing it!

"Anck-es-en-Amon, my love has lasted longer than the temples of our gods. No man ever suffered as I did for you. But the rest you may not know. Not until you are about to pass through the great night of terror and triumph. Until you are ready to face moments of horror for an eternity of love.
