You’re at a party & there’s a classical guitar in the corner.
Someone says ‘Hey you play , don’t you? Play us something’.
What is your go to piece of music to blow everyone away.
P.S
Anyone say ‘Wonderwall’ & your comment will be deleted😉

One interesting example is Pink Floyd's "Is there anybody out there?" from The Wall. I mean, it is a surprisingly effective and beautiful beginner etude that one could easily mistake for something from Carcassi or Sor.
Do you know any other examples of classical guitar pieces from popular music that could stand on their own in the broader context of classical guitar repertoire?
(Stairway to Heaven does not count)

Hi everyone,
Here is my short interpretation of Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1 on classical guitar.
I always felt this melody had a mysterious, almost witchy atmosphere. To enhance that mood, I created a short visual journey—starting with a drone shot entering a deep forest, leading into a walk through the dark.
I wanted to blend this dark visual storytelling with a warm, intimate guitar tone and relaxed rubato.
Hope you enjoy the music and the visuals. Any thoughts on the tone or overall atmosphere are always welcome!

Hello,
Have any fellow classical guitarists here been on a cruise ship contract?
I was hoping to find someone guide me to find an agency or talent mgt company with whom I can have greater odds of being onboarded.
Also tips on the process, leads etc would be really helpful.
Thanks a ton in advance.

hi all. maybe i'm stupid but i'm having trouble with this bar. i can't figure out how i'm supposed to play the harmonic on the 12th fret while also playing C with my third finger. my first thought was to get to the C on the sixth string, but the stretch to the 12th fret for the harmonic is still quite a reach. also same goes for the A? thanks in advance!
edit: i've decided i'll just do artificial harmonics, and also it is not drop d tuning. thanks again!

Three finger picado on my 1968 Ramirez 1a flamenco blanca. Question for the mods: How often can we post videos here? I don't want to spam the forum.

Agustín Barrios Mangoré captures the organic rhythm of water in Julia Florida (Barcarola). Set in 6/8 meter, the piece mirrors the natural swaying motion of a boat over calm waters.

Does anyone know what this guitar tune is? I've posted this in several other places and have gotten conflicting information. Some suggest it's a classical piece, possibly something from John Dowland. Others say it's an English music hall song.

Anybody with small hands attempts to play "Ave Maria" arranged by Azpiazu?

This week, my latest composition "Moris" Op. 377, built on a short and simple theme.
My tablature this time is precise note by note and available for free here : https://kdrive.infomaniak.com/app/share/791717/b746935b-1b4a-4105-adaf-cee7d7cdb2f5

I've noticed in their recordings, both David Russell and Jason Vieaux play a complex addition to the fermata in measure 40 of the Prelude of BWV 998. It can be heard at 2:05 in the video below:

Does anyone know if sheet music for this exists? I have the Frank Koonce edition of the Bach Lute Suites which doesn't have it, and I cannot find any info about it online at all.

If you’re playing a solo gig with a nylon string guitar, what’s the right type of mic to use?
I have a decent condenser, but it’s really sensitive, and I wonder if it would pick up the speakers and feed back. I’m not sure how sensitive a dynamic mic would be, and I have even heard the suggestion to use both, but turn the gain low on the condenser so it doesn’t get overwhelmed.

I was completely struck by Segovia’s rendition of this one and needed to learn it.

Title says it all. The C40ii has the most comfortable neck I've ever played. Love its depth, love its shape. (The satin finish is a nice perk, but not necessary.)
I've been playing seriously for about 2 years and have only been able to test maybe 30 classicals in that time period. I've yet to come across another guitar that has the same neck profile. The other contemporary Yamaha's I've been able to get into my hands have been much thinner, which seems to be the trend these days.
All solid would be preferable, but I'm okay with laminate back and sides.
EDIT: I guess this profile would be considered a U shape?

Here is my performance of "Sons de Carrilhões" (Sounds of Bells), a piece widely loved by classical guitarists.
I did my best to capture the lively groove of the choro rhythm and the bright ringing charm of the guitar, though bringing out its true flavor was quite a challenge. It was especially tough because since developing arthritis, keeping up finger stamina past the one-minute mark has been difficult.
Hope you enjoy the listen!
