Hi, I was yet again a victim of the Kia boys.. I am looking for somewhere to take my car to get fixed as my window is busted and my steering column is ripped apart. Anyone know of a good place i can take it to get it repaired and rekeyed?

I was planning to buy a Kia. Is owning Kia that bad in Cleveland?

Don't buy a Kia. Most insurance companies will charge you a higher rate just because it's a Hyundai/Kia. I had a 2005 Santa Fe (obviously made way before kiaboys bullshit) and even I got hit with a rate increase because of the thefts going on. Your car may not get stolen immediately but imo it's not worth it.

Can confirm. My daughter has a Kia. The insurance rates are ridiculously high on them, and many insurers won't cover them at all, due to the high theft rates.

Do NOT BUY A KIA if you live anywhere close to downtown or even Lakewood for that matter… I had mine broken in to 4 times, successfully stolen 3 times. Ended up costing me thousands in insurance claims / window replacements / rental cars. I hear the newer models fixed the problem that allowed them to be stolen, but losers still try to break in and cause damage.

I’ve only lived here for a week, i just moved here from columbus and it happened to me there once 3 years ago. I wouldnt recommend a kia to anyone anywhere.

I've had one since 2015. I've lived in North Royalton/Parma and the car has always lived outside and I haven't been hit. I had the recall thing installed a couple years ago just in case. But it's not a real problem everywhere.

But insurance companies won't cover them anymore. When I bought my house a couple years ago, no new insurance companies would touch me for a consolidated policy.

Kia's hero trend arc is over. Nothing to do with Cleveland specifically.

Kias are shit cars mate. Even before the low iq good for nothing Kia boys started jacking them they were known to be shitty cars. It got so bad that insurance companies began to refuse insuring them. Only people buy Kias are the ones that can't afford the hondas/toyotas/Mazda, have bad credit, or know nothing about the cars and get enamored by all of Kias fancy buttons and bells and whistles. Its the only way they make their money. Besides any auto manufacturer that offers a 10 year/100k warranty knows their shit stinks.

It’s that bad anyways. They’re not usually reliable.

I have a 2023 kia forte and the insurance is outrageous. If the car wasn’t almost paid off-ish, I’d trade it in.

Welcome to Reddit , where you’ll never get an answer to your question, just random opinions that have nothing to do with answering your question!

That being said, what part/area are you in?

I cant comment or recommend specific places in old Brooklyn, but on the westside, Bruce’s, Knapps and Plain Brothers are always highly recommended. I can’t say specifically if they do that kind of work, but if any of those shops are on your insurance companies list I’d give them a call. Good luck.

Woods' Automotive on Memphis should be pretty close to you, and they've always been good to my wife and I!
