General Is Winston not utterly broken right now?

Switched to PC from console. Emerald all roles right now. I never played Winston on console but I have started to now on PC.

This character is literally hitler. Like you can just do whatever you want. His bubble uptime is outrageous now. If you ban bastion there's nothing that can really stop you. Like yeah w chain Mizuki the shield I just plopped in your face is gonna HATE that lil bro.

you act like 6v6 2-2-2 isn't played daily in open queue, it does just fine. the dark ages was 3-3 and no i wasn't around for that

lmfao goats was not the dark ages for Overwatch. Outside of GM barely anyone played it on ladder, it was a problem for the 1%. Coincidentally the game started its major decline once role lock came out in late 2019. The dark ages were 2020-2021, when the game was getting 0 content, and queue times were regularly 10+ minutes for both dps and support at all ranks, further exacerbated at high ranks.

Role lock will never work in Overwatch because there aren't enough tank players. Waiting 10 minutes for a game if you're a support or dps player isn't fun. Ngl with how much more popular support is nowadays than it was back then support queue times would probably regularly be in excess of 15 minutes.

That's true, but you're the one who brought up that they need to bring back 6v6 role queue already, so I think you know what the problems with 6v6 open queue are. It's fun casually, but not competitive at all because people will have to off role on roles they suck at. Most teams will fill to 2-2-2, if not at least 1-3-2, but if you have a support main and dps main on tank and the other team has two tank mains on tank you just lose by default.

You know what's really funny is people shoot down open queue because "everyone will just pick 3 tanks and 3 supports again", but then at the same time they also shoot down 6v6 role queue "because there's not enough tank players"

Not that i want role queue hell no. But is it one or the other lmao

We have so many solutions for those problems now.

Unlike OW1, we have hero bans, we can ban whoever is too strong.

We have all kinds of tank diversity. If the enemy has Orisa Sigma, you can run something like Ramattra Junker Queen into them.
