Discussion Needing general information about Conservation Corps
Corps name: California Conservation Corps
Hello people, I (18M) was recommended to join the CCC and was wondering what its like/expect. I really have no prior knowledge about this at all and any advice is appreciated.

Do it. Conservation corps changed my life. You're young, embrace it while you can. Take what you need, leave the rest.

Very militant. Free food and board. Good pay considering the corps in general. Do fire. You can get away with a lot of shit. Lots of stinky fools

I’m still waiting for a response from my recruiter it’s been almost a month and they said 10 days, is that normal?

Although it’s not usually that they forgot you, I would recommend calling or emailing your recruiter to check in. They have a lot on their plates so they sometimes get overwhelmed or simply don’t have any news for you as of yet. I’m unsure what step you’re at because the moment my recruiter had reached out to me, I was informed to check in weekly. Have you already had your initial zoom meeting or are you waiting for an update on another step in the process?
