How many days with no urge?

I haven’t had the urge to poo for the past 2 days, stomach feels really bloated. The longest time I’ve gone without a single urge to poo is 4 days, what about yall?

With no laxative I never get the urge to go

Same here. I was traveling abroad recently and was unable to do the laxative roulette routine. I went 7 days without a bowel movement and felt no urge to go at all. I was badly bloated and felt like crap but had no sensation that any stool was in my rectum or any place close. I have gone 10 days before without pooping and felt no urge to go. It is insane.

longest was several weeks. i didn’t really feel an urge to go, but if i sat on the toilet and really tried i felt like i just couldn’t get it out 😵‍💫 wasn’t fun

That's what has happened to me before. I've never done an enema, does that actually help? I usually just do a lot of MiraLAX & liquid magnesium.

enema really only helps when you feel like you have to go but can’t push it out! if you don’t feel an urge or like something is there, it probably won’t do much (i think) cause it sorta lubricates the end so you can push it out without straining.

What happened in the end? How did you resolve that?

lots of laxatives and an enema, but it was so difficult to go and i nearly passed out because it was so hard. i was also in the hospital at the time which makes things worse cause i get poop shy (especially if i have to share a bathroom). i’m glad i didn’t get a perforated bowel ot anything serious!

I’m curious what your diet is like, that’s quite a long time to feel zero urge. Can you dm me please?

Ugh I hate being shy about using the bathroom. I hope I never have to get an enema at the ER because my anxiety would probably prevent me from being able to expel it. 😂

Do you still have issues with not getting an urge? Or u good?

currently i have an urge more frequently (it’s more like bubble guts and a lot of gas), but still unable to go consistently or feel like i’ve emptied completely!! even if i do go to the bathroom, ill always feel like there’s more that i just can’t pass.

I thought I had mine fixed with prune juice. At this point, I'm on day 3 w/o going 😫 I had a small urge yesterday but it didn't last. I don't feel uncomfortable yet, but I'm trying to lose weight and not going isn't helping.

My diet is 98% healthy eating, fruit, vegetables, some greens, chicken, eggs, tuna, no red meat.

I think what happened for me, I decided to try even healthier and made bean salad with 2 types if kidney beans, celery, cucumber, red onion and shredded chicken, topped with Italian dressing. I ate one full serving, had terrible stomach ache that night. No bm since and I don't want to waste food, so I've been eating just the chicken, cucumber and some of the beans (not many) and I have it on some lettuce.

Last night I started 2 magnesium citrate. I'm doing yoga for pooping today 🤷‍♀️

I'll probably have 2 servings of prune juice today. I think I can safely say, beans are a no go for me!

Goodness! What’s your diet like? I must know

oh it used to be very bad, i would eat like 1 meal a day with snacks throughout the day, dehydrated and eating chocolate ice cream which makes me even more constipated. i used to get really bad stomach pains too bc i haven’t done anything for days. thankfully now i eat properly and don’t get constipated as much. still need to drink more water though lol

Yeah 1 meal doesn’t provide enough gut motility engagement so that makes sense. Plus the chocolate and dairy slows digestion even more so. How are your bowels these days?

Do u get the urge to go? How often do you go now?

I've gone for at least a week before taking a laxative. I find I cannot digest fats. Learned that when trying something with mayo. Does anyone know what causes the inability to digest fats? Results in yellow floating stools when I finally give in and take a laxative.

with no urge 3 days, without going in general 6 days. i take linzess and just got upped to 290 mcg because i wasn’t getting the urge anymore on 145 :/

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Oh so you only go about once a week. What’s your diet like?

1

u/chuusblackgf 2d ago

oh i shouldve clarified that was without medication, but i’ve tried the low fodmap diet which helped until it didn’t. more fiber didn’t help either and that was the first thing i tried. i did figure out gluten gives me issues so i’ve cut that out, and most dairy, but i still have issues. i honestly think my constipation is tied to endometriosis and pelvic floor dysfunction more than anything

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Hmm that does sound like pelvic floor dysfunction, doctors also told that to me and I found it to not be true later on. I study gastroenterology, interested in learning more about your bowel habits. Can you please dm me?
