Inside (2007)
https://www.imdb.com/?ref_=mv_close
Jesus Christ, this was a trip. And personally, this was way more extreme than two other French horror movies I saw, High Tension and Frontiers. The body horror in here is fucking insane, and the gore is ruthless and brutal. By far one of the most extreme French Horror movies my eyes have ever witnessed.

If you’ve made it through High Tension, Frontiers, and now Inside, it sounds like you’re ready for Martyrs!

I think Inside is the best of them all. The final shot is absolutely haunting

SPOILERS:
It was very uncomfortable to watch, and it felt very claustrophobic at times. That last scene where she’s laying on the stairs with her intestines poking out of the abdomen was incredibly bleak. Was really hoping and rooting that she would kill that lady, but the complete opposite happens.4

Yes, definitely watching that one with my movie buddy soon. Lmao, why are the French so talented when it comes to brutal, extreme movies?

Martyrs is something else man.... I've watched it 18 years ago and... once was enough for me.

I have seen Martyrs without going through High Tension, Frontiers, and Inside.
Maybe going in that order would've made it easier.1

People seem to leave our Martyrs, brutal flick.
Don't want to spoil it for people but did you know the ending can be taken two completely different ways? If not think about it and you will see what I mean. It's crazy. Great movie.

Went on a huge horror kick to keep occupied during the football off-season. Every night for months I would watch a new movie.
Of all that I watched this is the only one I dreamt about. Two days after watching Inside I had a dream three strangers were knocking at my front door asking for help and I instinctively didn't answer. I watched through the peep hole as they walked to an adjacent unit, did the same there, and immediately shot my neighbor to death upon opening.
So yeah lol.. Loved this one

Haha, yeah, I really hate when you mistaken your neighbor for a homicidal maniac and blast his head off with a shotgun 😂😂.

Why are the French so skilled in the grosteque? I've been reading some comics by Hubert and even the fairy tale ones have an element of queese about them.

I agree that it's a cut above the other two you mentioned. La Femme is a great villain.

The most brutal, mean spirited movie I've ever seen. Stayed with me for days. Just haunting

Great movie. Now check out Martyrs which is probably the most popular French extreme horror film

Haha, I’m getting to it! Heard a lot about that one. Currently doing an extreme movie marathon with my friend, and Martyrs is up next!

I rented this movie on an early date with my now-wife. She has never let me live it down.

I really disliked the last 15 minutes or so, but everything up until then was great

Also, another great French horror film that's not as extreme but still worth the watch is "Trouble Every Day" 10 of 10 would always recommend

Both INSIDE and TROUBLE EVERY DAY have the great, giant-toothed Beatrice Dalle!

Those scissors certainly got a lot of use in this film

Aye this was not an instance of an iconic prop that looks great on a poster but that appears for all of 10 seconds in the actual film. Those things did some work, they earned that cover shot. Retrospective Oscar for the scissors, campaign starts now.

This is one of the only movies I've had to look away from as I was feeling a bit panicky.

It's great and one of the best completely blind views ever for me. I impulsively bought it after it popped up on an Amazon rec list, having never heard of it before and was blown away by it, savage little film
