Used to own this on VHS. Semi early work by this French director. Got to this movie by reading a Roger Ebert review in which he called some scenes ‘unnecessary’.

This is about a handicapped man, in a wheelchair, who uses an electronic device to talk, that sounds robotic and weird but allows him to communicate his thoughts. He has a social life, not a bad one really, where he hangs out and gets drunk with a musician friend and others who are easygoing. And he has a helper, a college girl.

At some point he gets upset, frustrated about his circumstances. Then he starts killing people. It's interesting I guess, how he does this while cruising around in his motor-chair.

The guy isn't pretending to be disabled because he's like that in real life, and in the film uses his real name.

Watched on Youtube.
