[USA] Timing couldn’t have been more perfect
Driver completely cut me off without looking then runs a red light just for a cop to be waiting at the following light!

It amazes me how many people drive with complete disregard to signals and other traffic. It's like they don't know traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of death.

He definitely ran that red light just so he wouldn't have ended up next to you and got the stare down after that stunt

u/Alphadice 11d ago
I think there were gonna run the other light too and stopped when they realized it was a cop, it looks like they are past the cop, so probably sitting in the intersection.

They really tried to turn right and sneak away 😂

u/kwaping 11d ago
I was thinking the cop rolled down their window and instructed the other driver to make that right turn

u/Lochcelious 11d ago
That's what I assumed too

u/benrow77 11d ago
But what if he didn't? What if he just wanted to fuck with them? Sits there and pretends he didn't see anything and waits to see what they do. They try to sneak off so he starts to go straight like they're gonna get away with it, then at the last second he yanks the wheel and hits the lights. Kinda diabolical, but also harmless.

unmuted out of curiosity
muted because I was expecting something cheesy, not a 13th reason why

lmao he’s like oh shit a cop, I’ll just casually go around them and hope they didn’t notice that
All it did was make it easier to pull them over

First he turned right into the farthest lane then ran the red like a moron. I hate people like this.
I take a left onto a two-lane road every day and people coming in from across the street (turning right) dangerously come into my lane all the time. Absurdly stupid

Sweet sweet karma. Fucking love it! They cut OP off, used the farthest lane to turn into rather than the closest, ran the red light, changed lanes with no signal (double for at an intersection), then tries to dip out taking a right uses a 2 seconds signal to do it. What a hellafied mess. They deserve everything shitty thing to happen to them for that BS. That cop absolutely saw OP flashin the idiot for that move they pulled. Then for runnin up on the cop and quick dippin out of the lane. Cop wanted to know what's up.

That song is as uplifting as My Shit's Fucked Up. Warren Zevon, but Kinky Friedman's cover is better.

As a frequent heavy metal listener about being strong and never giving up, this guy's choice of music is... Interesting 🫢

So we know why they deserve to get pulled over but how does the cop know?

u/bluesteeldoubter 11d ago
The lights look synced. If one is red, they both are. Cop was sitting at a red light so he knew the one behind him was red too.

He literally ran a red light and pulled up right next to him. That traffic stop basically fell into that cop’s lap

u/Deli-op 11d ago
But its behind the cop so howd the cop know they didnt "just make the yellow"
11
u/noob6791 11d ago
They saw dude was flying and check the other lane’s light from their rear view mirror as they passed the intersection, it’s been red for a solid couple of seconds at least.

u/zumzum710 11d ago
Maybe I’m wrong or speculation but right before the second red light there was an another light and from his rear view pretty sure the cop saw it.

u/Deli-op 11d ago
Youre correct theres two lights. We see the car cut off the camera car and run a red light, thats why i said we know. But how did the cop know they didnt "just make the yellow" and actually ran the red? Hopefully you pulled off and provided info as well so they can get booked with both tickets

From what I can tell in the video, the cop turns left in front of the reckless driver and he barely made it through the yellow on the first light himself (I wasn't sure at first that the cop himself didn't run the red on the first light).
The cop knew because the cop barely squeezed through as the light was turninv red. The car behind him fully ran the red.
If I were a cop, I'd be much more concerned by reckless driving done while my cop car was in plain view, because they're not just being reckless, they're not aware enough of their surroundings to play cool with an officer in plain view. That's reckless driving plus lack of situational awareness which means they will be an accident sooner rather than later.

Did we watch the same video? There's 2 sets of red lights, the cops at the 2nd set, bro ran the first set. The cop saw, they were there.

u/I3ravo_ 11d ago
How did the cop know the first set was red?

u/albirich 11d ago
A number of reasons:
When it's dark out you can actually see the lights on the ground, there's a curve near where I live that I don't see the lights before I'm at them but at night I can tell because of it.
The other car stopped, usually if it's green you don't.
Those street lights seem to time up together so because the second was red, the first was red.
Most importantly though, and we can completely ignore the others because of this one, the cop took it on yellow at the last second, anyone behind them missed the light.
Side note it looks like the person who ran the light didn't even notice, probably distracted. The speed at which they were going with the cop in front of them then hit their brakes hard. I wonder if they're on the phone and didn't even notice it was a cop at first.

Did you turn your brights on as a way of signaling your annoyance for them cutting you off? Because that's a good way to blind people and turn an annoyance into a car wreck that you gain some responsibility for. Don't do that.
7
u/jeepfail 11d ago
I’m saying do that, but if a flash of lights blinds you to the point of wrecking you shouldn’t be driving at night.

"That you gain some responsibility for"
In what world? Absolutely no way you would be found even partially at fault for shining your high beams at someone.
