Has anyone ever had such a dramatic transformation as caleb flynn had before and after getting convicted.

He was a decent looking guy, but damn, he looked like the crypt keeper at his trial.

Deadly Discipline Trial

How horrifically this little boy was tortured and died. Did the foster father submit a plea deal that was rejected by the judge? It seems the defense attorney was shocked that the judge didn’t accept it. What was submitted?

UPDATE: Verdict Watch Concluded – Mistrial Declared in NC v. David Prevatte

Verdict watch has officially ended in NC v. David Prevatte.

The judge has declared a mistrial due to a corrupted jury.

Key Details:

  • Juror Rulings & Misconduct:
    • Juror #3 was removed for misconduct.
    • Juror #4 was questioned by the court, after which the judge stated it was clear they were not being truthful.
    • Additional compounding issues arose with Juror #2 and Juror #7.
  • Mutual Agreement: All parties ultimately agreed that, given these developments, continuing would not prove beneficial to the case, the verdict, or the defendant.
  • Next Steps: The State will now determine whether to seek a retrial.

JURY DRAMA: NC v. David Wesley Prevatte — Mistrial on the Horizon?

We are hitting a critical juncture in NC v. David Wesley Prevatte, and the courtroom drama isn't just about the evidence anymore—it’s playing out right inside the jury box.

Depending on how things shake out today, a mistrial could genuinely be on the horizon.

Here is a breakdown of what’s currently unfolding with the panel:

1. The Juror #3 Situation

Reports indicate there are major concerns surrounding Juror #3. According to statements brought forward by Jurors #2, #10, and #11, Juror #3 allegedly made comments along the lines of:

"I know about this, but I can't say anything."

This kind of outside knowledge or pre-existing familiarity—coupled with verbalizing it to fellow panel members—throws a massive wrench into deliberations, as jurors are strictly instructed to decide the case solely on evidence presented in the courtroom.

2. The Alternate Dilemma

The court is actively looking into removing Juror #3 and substituting an alternate. However, this creates a secondary high-stakes gamble for the defense and prosecution:

  • The Math: If they swap out Juror #3 for an alternate, they burn through another backup, leaving the panel with only 2 alternates remaining.
  • The Contagion Fear: The bigger worry weighing on everyone's mind is whether Juror #3’s comments infected the rest of the room. If #2, #10, and #11 heard it, did other jurors hear it too? If the outside bias has bled into a broader segment of the panel, swapping one juror won't solve the core taint.

What's your take?

  • Do you think a substitution will suffice, or has the entire panel been irretrievably compromised?
  • Are we looking at a guaranteed mistrial if the defense pushes the issue today?

LIVE: Dying Last Words Trial — FL v. Leigha Mumby — Day 1

Sounds similar to the Mackenzie Shirilla circumstances.

"Leigha Mumby, 24, is standing trial after her boyfriend, Daniel Waterman, died on Oct. 8, 2025, eight months after a crash that left him with severe injuries. While in the ICU, detectives say Waterman told them Mumby intentionally swerved into a tree during an argument after she learned she was pregnant and he received a text from another woman. Waterman said Mumby accelerated to 80 or 90 mph before the crash, telling him, “I don’t care what happens, you’ll get what you deserve.” His statement to detectives became his dying words. Mumby is charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving causing serious bodily injury."

NC vs David Prevatte

I was very convinced that he was guilty from the opening statements(yes I know i shouldn’t have been; but I thought the prosecution would have/show evidence that would have been definitively proven that he was the culprit- having been so long since the death; I thought it would be a “done deal”)

From the testimony today it seems that there’s still a plausible “unknown/ not specifically one persons DNA”?

I definitely could’ve missed a lot of today’s testimony; which would point to David, and if so, apologies.

If not, would you be voting “guilty” based on the evidence so far? I know it’s been heavily influenced that he is guilty, so it’s harder to “decide”

Watching one now that says “without jury present”

Honestly if I was a juror this is an instant not guilty. If you are not going to provide me with absolutely the most information available then I have no choice but to walk away.

Its always ridiculous that people like him say a mother would never leave her children. And people like him yammer on about yet we have several cases where moms kill their children, walkout etc. How the hell can you make that

statement as a host knowing Andrea Yates, Casey Anthony, etc killed their kids?

What (if anything) should the prosecution have done differently in the Jordan Henning trial?

I remember a lot of people being upset/surprised that Henning was found guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter as opposed to the top charge of intentional murder.

So where did the prosecution fall short? I'm strictly talking about what they did at trial, not jury selection or anything like that.

Was their opening/closing disorganized or misleading?

Did they call the wrong witnesses? Did they call too many/few witnesses?

Did they focus too much on irrelevant evidence or focus too little on important evidence?

Was their cross-exam of the defendant too soft or too aggressive?

What am I missing here? How the hell is Karen Read keep getting mentioned on some underage getting murdered? I cant watch this nonsense because there os no correlation between the two cases. You can make the lame excuse that its the same area I guess but this seems like a huge reach.

Gerald Radford was rightfully acquitted for killing John Lay

I remember that a lot of people were surprised/angry when he was found not guilty last year. I didn't watch the trial in real time but from what I had heard about the case before the trial started, I was surprised too. When I went back and watched the trial for myself however, it was a different story...

- The prosecution leaned too hard on Radford's homophobic comments. It came off like they were using it as a "crutch" for the rest of their case

- Some of the evidence the prosecution used to paint Radford as the aggressor (threatening Lay's life and separate comment to third party about wanting to kill him) sounded good in theory, but not so much in reality. I can elaborate further on this if you want

- There were no eyewitnesses or cameras that captured the altercation. Which leads me to my next point...

- The police work was shaky. They failed to secure Ring footage from a nearby house that might have captured the shooting and the lead detective struggled to answer basic questions about how the case was handled

- The Medical Examiner's testimony was too vague and it opened the door for reasonable doubt

- The prosecution attempted to discredit Radford's testimony about getting punched in the face by having the Medical Examiner testify that there was no bruising on Lay's knuckles. It sounded promising, except for the fact that Radford claimed he had been [hammer punched](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/1a03jfOoQlo/maxresdefault.jpg)

- The park witnesses were overwhelmingly biased in favor of Lay and their testimony was fairly repetitive

- Radford's attorneys were very good. Their cross-examinations were effective, they had a reasonable counterargument for everything the prosecution put forth, and their closing argument was powerful

- Ironically, I think the person who helped Radford the most at trial was none other than Lay himself. Lay's text messages showed that he clearly wasn't afraid of Radford and his message about planning to tackle Radford not only pointed to Lay being the likely aggressor, but it also undercut the prosecution's narrative of Lay always being passive

- This doesn't really matter in terms of evidence, but I thought the prosecutor himself wasn't very likable. I watched him in a previous trial (FL v. Matthew Terry), and I thought he was great. He was composed, he was articulate, and he argued his case effectively.

This time was different. He leaned way too hard on emotional appeal like I mentioned earlier and was nowhere near as composed. I guess he was trying to come off as passionate, but I felt like he was overly dramatic and abrasive. Even though it was a short trial, I think the jury soured on his approach.

Was Gerald Radford a jerk? Yes

Did the prosecution disprove his claim of self-defense? Not even close

I can not stand the smugness or attitude about this guy. I’m having a very hard time imagining he’s anything but guilty off of his demeanor
