How?

Woke up this morning to my Buddie having a claw severed. I have some guppies, 4 angelfish, a bristlenose pleco and Peaceful barbs in his tank. How and why would this have happened? The fish never bother him except he sometimes has quarrels with the bristlenose for hidingspaces even though they have enough of them.

If he injured it, he may have removed it himself. It will grow back.

this can happen due to injury or immense stress. they are known to just rip them off themselves. itll grow back within the next 2-3 molts, but its important to reduce stress as much as possible

We've had him for 3 years, he barely molts anymore.
