Elections & Democracy Protest in London, demanding resignation of gyanesh Kumar.✊🏻🔥
Every democracy stands on "free & fair elections". Electoral integrity is the prime most thing for a healthy democracy. If people will start to lose "faith" in the electoral process, and won't respect the mandate, then indian parliamentary democracy can't survive.
It is good to see that our overseas Indians are aware about this fact and standing with Indian youth, who are opposing this tyranny govt. In my opinion, every overseas indian should be concerned about this election commission fuss. Coz it hurts everyone equally. Most of them have their families, house, business and even votes in india. They all are part of this nation. And again it's really good to see them protesting. UK STANDS WITH INDIA✊🏻
Jab jab modi darta h, police ko aage karta h.
Modi teri tanasahi nhi chalegi nhi chalegi.
Amit Shah teri tanasahi nhi chalegi, nhi chalegi.
Gyanesh Kumar istifa do istifa do✊🏻🔥

As an Indian living in abroad, stop this hollow demonstrations. You got a problem? Go where it is and fix it. All of them including me made a decision to leave the country. We don’t pay taxes, we don’t contribute and essentially aren’t facing the consequences for anything happening in India. This is the exact reason why we have a bad image in the foreign.

u/Senior-Gas-970 6h ago
Yep lmao lived in UK for a while and saw this often these guys just do it for weekend kicks and then get the brunt of racism for shit like this.

Dhruv rathee went to India. He got kidnapped by the govt. What else can he do other than protest in a foreign land
•
u/upbeatgun3r 2h ago
He was detained and left in a day. If government wanted to show muscle, he couldn't leave India.
•
u/abhi6543 2h ago
That's not detention. Non uniformed people barged into his house and kidnapped him. If that's not muscle, I don't know what is. Unless you meant at least the govt didn't torture him or put frivolous charges on him?

Yes. Protests in Bangladesh for the same and now in UK where most of the Pak stays. Seems quite legit.

Honestly, im always flabbergasted as how much of the indian pop is overseas. No wonder we are so hated. I can understand their pov.

u/InquisitiveSoul_94 11h ago
To be fair , London has huge South Indian presence since a few decades ago. It’s really cosmopolitan to the hilt.
NRI remittances is also one of the reasons Indian real estate is inflated asf.
0
u/Exotic-Frame9425 9h ago
Yes, and instead of integrating with the english chaps, they have made a secluded indian community and deny adopting the ways of that country.
Imagine bangladeshis coming into our country, forming their community and occupying clusters of land making it multiple mini bangladesh, holding rallies and protests against something which has nothing to do with india or its residents, disturbing the locals and causing commotion. Would we really be okay with that ? If someone comes into our country, either adopt our ways or just dont bother.
3
u/Exotic-Frame9425 11h ago
Exactly. I hate this indian mindset of entitlement they have, no regards for others and how others will manage but we’ll do whatever we want until asked to stop forcefully.

Desh chor diya hai toh why do so many people care?
I don't get it. It's not like you wanna come back. Let the people who live here decide. Vote agar chori Hui hai, then all elected MPs and MLAs must resign. The opposition parties should set the example by first resigning from both state and centre and then all of India will back them against Modi and his party would be forced to resign as well.
We have new election for all states and centre under a new CEC. It's the easiest way to validate everything.

Why opposition always run towards western countries....Do they really think Western countries can pressure India..
5
u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago
Why did Mohan Bhagwat hold a rally in New York? I think this protest is stupid but its within their rights and they can do it because they want to.
4
u/rushi_B 12h ago
Rally = protest. nice logic
8
u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago
Nope but its still gathering for like minded people right? Whats the point of rally there? India mei har roz hota hai. Also fyi i think rally is fine but you have to understand then this protest is also fine from their perspective. Selective criticism is death of thinking.

-5
u/Bps33382 12h ago
No criticism on anyone protesting anywhere....I am just asking why they are doing this outside of India.....Rahlu crying in front of foreign media and now this....do they think foreign country can push india...
5
u/Late_Bad_1787 11h ago
Because India is becoming regime like China Russia Iran where they call protest as foreign induced and crack down on own citizens harshly… lots of Russians Chinese Iran etc protest outside to put pressure on govt
0
u/Bps33382 10h ago
And doing this will only support the narrative to foreign interference, anyways i just wanted to know does this will put pressure on Indian government....
1
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 10h ago
Not with diplomatic relations, but it will surely change the perception of the foreign media about us. Remeber the time when Modi was shamed by a journalist for not answering questions??
-1
u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago edited 11h ago
Well yeah i mean as i said its stupid to protest outside india for a weekend. Makes no effect with this issue. Most are following reels rather than ground reality but still we cant delegitimise their right.

Everything aside, imagine a group of white people protesting against trump or putin on indian streets in a language we dont understand. That would be a big nuisance for us. Some might be amused just cause of the foreign people but that would fade away quickly. What good is protesting against someone in another country while being an nri gonna do ? Except for troubling the locals there.
5
u/MexicaliRose32 11h ago
We hardly have any white people. So it’s a pointless comparison. Secondly they wouldn’t even be allowed to

It brings international visibility to foreign affairs which is a big influencing factor for governments. International shame is sometimes the only image that government cares about, not the reputation they have internally with citizens who they walk over daily.
Also brain drain is real and people many times parents work hard and send children abroad simply to dream for better life conditions for their family and children than they never had which they know they cannot attain in current situation. (there is always different cases and I'm not denying other side ofthr coin doesn't exist with wealthy out of touch indians)
It doesn't always mean they don't care about where the country they grew up in. Gandhi lived abroad for 24 years. Sure they could come back to India and protest here but be realistic for a moment. People do what they can in our case ( you and I) we comment on Reddit posts thinking is some form of awareness and activism making any difference.1
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 10h ago
Son, our countrymen and Bajrang Dal have already held demonstrations and rallies for Israel.....
1
u/Exotic-Frame9425 10h ago
The israelis are also being heavily criticised for their actions disrupting the locals in himachal and goa.
2
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 10h ago
ECI and Gyanesh is also being heavily criticised for his incompetance, you point??
0
u/Exotic-Frame9425 9h ago
An independent body and its head is being criticised by almost the entire nation yet there isnt a shred of proof against them ? So idk about that but they are indians protesting against order, thats their right. Do nri guys have a right to disrupt and cause a commotion in a foreign country and its residents when the protest has literally zero significance or correlation to that country ? I dont think so.
2
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 9h ago
I've not seen any person having any problems with them protesting. Everybody has the right to protest, their police even assisted the NRIs. Don't compare us with them, they have far superior laws and administration in such matters.
Secondly the the ECI case is literally in the SC rn. The only hurdle is that, even though they are found guilty, there will be no court proceedings against them because a 2023 ammendment gives them Immunity.
In the WB SIR, they have been guilty of wrongfully deleting 1 lakh voters( Counted and given court hearing until now)....This number is expected to reach 20 Lakh when all appeals have been heard. Why should a body be allowed to function of they are guilty of deleting lakhs of voters wrongfully??
0
u/Exotic-Frame9425 9h ago
Yes, they took prior permissions but the locals are surely being bothered by it, pretty evidently i must say. I have seen this myself on uk subs, i dont remember which.
About the ECI, people are claiming that eci removed so many voters so as to favour bjp, but how can anybody know which party would an individual vote for beforehand and thus cut their name from the valid voting lists. I’m from a neighbouring state of WB and frequently visit. The state of affairs there were really bad. The illegal immigrants were infested in WB with the locals literally seeing bus full of them coming through the borders with zero resistance. They launched a process where they were asking residents to get surveyed (which i also did) and thus get proved to be a resident. This was done on a very short notice which might have lead to many actual citizens missing out, which resulted in their names being cut. But that doesnt mean they arent a citizen anymore. You can always get verified later but i feel it was a step in the right direction. Hoardes of these illegal immigrants left WB and back to their country after this. Just visit WB once and talk to the locals, they are genuinely happy by this except a certain demographic. This argument of mine was aside from any politics or parties
2
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 9h ago
This isn't particularly about BJP. The ECI has also wrongfully deleted names in TN and Kerala( But ofc we can't expect Congress of CJP to speak up for it). And I'll just give you some data about the WB SIR.
About 91 Lakh people were deleted, 63L among them were ASD category- It takes an easy process to get their names added back, and generally done before elections. The ECI doesn't maintain open data about this- We will never know how many people were wrongfully deleted.
But 28 L were deleted on basis of 'logical discrepancies'. When about 23 L people appealed this decisions, tribunals were set up AFTER ELECTIONS ( Only about 150 cases were heard before elections).....In the proceedings that followed, the ECI has been guilty of falsely deleting voters in 93% cases. About 1 Lakh voters have been added until now, and it has been projected that about 20L will be added when these tribunals end.......So basically they were denied the right to vote. Only about 7K people were deleted correctly.
I'm not against SIR ( Precisely why I don't support Congress in this matter). But they should be transparent and thorough in the process. To remove 4% Bangladeshis, you cannot simply punish the remaining 93% people. There are also reports of theass printing deletion forms based on surnames....If you could connect the dots.
Also frankly, it doesn't matter who won overall. Look at it this way: Lakhs of citizens were denied the right to have a say in choosing their local MLA or rather their voting rights was snatched away during the elections
0
u/Exotic-Frame9425 9h ago
Yes, you are absolutely right. This cant be considered a win at the cost of our citizen’s rights. I have always been against govt and non govt bodies not releasing data and not being transparent. Also, we know how competent are the workers and volunteers who were selected for the whole SIR thing. I’m honestly not surprised at the failings because of our work ethics. Yes, rightful citizens will get added back eventually but you’re right in your argument.
Sadly, what you say is hardly the popular consensus. People are protesting against eci for being biased in cutting off names from the voters list favouring a particular political party, not for being incompetent. Whats sad is majority of the people have little idea about the whole thing too and have no opinions of their own apart from whats being fed to them by these protest organisers and agenda pushers who are basically a political party in disguise.
3
u/VinsmokeZoro30553 9h ago
Well, we have a large population blindly following certain political parties, now we have a large chunk of people blindly following these protests. And honestly, idgaf what their dumb demands are.......Just a comedy show atp. But I won't object if they actually succeed in bringing in reforms in the ECI.
Neither side is entirely in the right here, but the Govts response in these matters has been largely disappointing- Detentions, Arrests, Police Brutality......Even I don't want our country in the hands of the other clown party, but the current one certainly needs some humbling to actually work properly.....I see these protests as a means to achieve that, nothing else😂

u/baluthebear1974 12h ago
These Khalistani's and Pakistanis should come to India and protest, same old SOP, what is protesting in the UK going to achieve, let them protest their heart out if doesn't change a thing in India.
If they are serious they should come to India take permission from the Police and protest, don't know how many of these Khalistani's and Pakistanis will get a visa though.
England is anyways on the path to becoming the The Islamic Republic of Englishtan, this is part of the transformation, they can't clean up their own place, try walking in their posh neighbourhoods with a Rolex on your wrist, these clowns can't solve their own problems
3
u/ab09895 11h ago
I was at the protest site, and been in London for over 6 years now. I can tell you my experiences first hand. These are indians/OCI card holders, next time may be we'll protest with indian passport in hand if that helps? If you're just going to be ignorant and not ready to see the facts right in front of you, it's your loss.
And you're being fed propaganda through media channels about Indians/Pakistanis/Bangladeshis/sri lankans living in London. We live in harmony most of the time and pretty much cover each other because over here, we are all outsiders. Perhaps you wouldn't know that feeling? The only time some shit breaks down here is when people bring in their baggage from their countries and start spreading hatred. Another instance, last year during the India/Pakistan stand-off, my university had lot of challenges between indians and Pakistanis sharing their views but not once did it become violent, it did get heated and emotions overflew.
1
u/Senior-Gas-970 6h ago
These guys will never get it. They are too stupid to question their IT cell propaganda. Dont waste your time arguing with them. There world is their propaganda and thats it nothing bigger. Neither will they travel nor will they learn.
-2
u/baluthebear1974 11h ago
You please come to India and protest Sir, protesting three will not solve anything and will be a waste of energy, shame on you for protesting outside your country to shame your country of origin, our leader of the opposition is the undisputed leader in that matter.
I would really appreciate if you could settle down there and not come back here as we don't want people like you who go to foreign lands and shame our country.
3
u/ab09895 11h ago
It's hilarious that you don't understand what a protest is. Also, you don't know the visibility one gets from being around the parliament square. Fighting for constitutional rights and human rights doesn't bring shame to my country, probably it does to your consciousness. Also protesting isn't considered "shame", are you even hearing yourself? I'm not going to waste my energy talking to a troll.
0
u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago
Haan bro sab kuch mei label laga de. I think its a useless protest but your comment is downright idiotic. I lived in the UK and all the rubbish you are saying has been filled by your WhatsApp and it cell. Please reconsider your information source.
3
u/Electronic-Love-9941 12h ago
Why do u think, their protests are useless? Don't u believe in solidarity?
-2
u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago
Nope i have seen many in London while i was there and they fizzle out quickly and also make no effect. Just my personal pov. Solidarity takes longer and more worse consequences. Like if they were also suffering repercussions. Most these people come for a weekend and then forget about it. The free palestine ones are different since they are well organised and consistent. Not these sadly.
1
u/Electronic-Love-9941 11h ago
Whatever u can say, but nothing is useless. Every little effort should be appreciated.
1
u/Senior-Gas-970 11h ago
Ofc thats my whole thread that they not be delegitimised in protesting but personal opinion is that if you want to make an impact take a leaf from the pro pali protestors and organise long term ones. Otherwise its just a weekend outing.

u/Senior-Gas-970 12h ago edited 12h ago
Thats selective information. Thats my point. I lived there 8 years and moved back last year. Grooming gangs are a problem yes but that does not mean its becoming “Islamistan” most parts of Uk have not even seen a muslim dude. They are congregated in select community areas in cities like Bradford and Birmingham which itself is a problem and they have a hard time integrating but that does not mean the UK is becoming Islamistan. This is a stupid idea which is being circulated. The grooming gangs stuff is bad but there are white and black grooming gangs too which are caught constantly. Crime has gone up for sure but thats because the economy is struggling. I dont see it as Khalistani or whatever. Infact Wembley and Southall both places i have been too are Indian dominated and equally bad in terms of communal dominance and civic sense as other areas like Brixton, Whitechapel in london which have black and bangladeshi dominated people. Honestly man if you are in Uk go to Southall or Wembley you will be equally repulsed as in an muslim dominated area. Its a problem of all foreign communities in UK.

The fact that he has the support of 33–34% of the people and yet acts like a dictator tells you a lot about the other 66–67% of us.
We didn’t question him enough, we just kept agreeing to every bit of BS.
When he announced that ₹500 and ₹1000 notes were being discontinued, we should’ve revolted then and there and made him come to our homes to collect the notes, rather than us having to go to banks to deposit them.

He became our leader through democracy and the Constitution. But the moment he starts taking away the very democratic and constitutional rights that legitimise his leadership, doesn’t that call his legitimacy into question?
Learn to reason properly, or get some education. Start with basic algebra, most importantly.
2
u/ufockinwot_m8 9h ago
Which are the constitutional rights he took from us? These are allegations and the protest should be to have a proper investigation or re election. But bruv.... So Modi is bringing them back and not the Indian administration, the air force or Air India (now privatised by Modi). Good to know.

I don't like NRI protest against Indian govt in a country other than India. It's absurd, immature and stupid.

NRIs can do absurd events like howdy modi, campaign for their castes, do bjp rallies there. But opposing BJP in other country, nahhhhh!

You can't talk sanity to such people. What do they achieve apart demeaning the county's image. Come to India and protest. BTW where are the proofs the president asked for?

Dude, when government behaves like shit in own country and detains protestors left right centre, you’ll see protests outside too. What’s the big deal.

How many RTIs were filed for the SIR issue? How many cases were filed in the courts? How about proofs? If there are any wrong doing, let the systems law and order be followed. What people see is only politically motivated allegations. What does protest in UK or US do?

Bring in political pressure.
Your questions aren’t relevant to me. You can find the answers online.
Jfyi rti is shit these days. You get jack shit anyway.

Seems like a politically motivated protest. If intention is to make system work better one should go through the system.

Investments in Indian anarchy have turned out to be dud. Now they are taking things in their own hand.

At least, i can go on putting my views respectfully and have the guts to answer questions unlike the current opposite and the current government.

u/Lumpy-Baseball-1129 12h ago
But don't have the courage to ask the government about accountability for its wrong doing !!!
