Plumbing Filter?
Originally removed shower head to clean limescale but found a dead …filter thing? This filter thing is corroded but I can’t see a way to remove it, should I replace it, if so how?

You need to fight these usually to get them out in one piece in my experience of cleaning my ones. If it's just coming out and being replaced then a pair of pliers will get it out.
But you can buy replacement filter washers, they come in a variety of styles so just make sure you get one that doesn't change the amount of flow you get otherwise you might end up having a less pleasant shower or break the shower entirely.
