UDG Backpack on Flights

Post image

Hi all.

So I have had the UDG Ultimate Backpack for a few years now and I've never actually tried taking it for international gigs as it's size is larger that what most airlines will allow for cabin luggage.

Has anyone though actually tried and got away with taking it and storing under the front seat? I'm travelling to ADE in a few weeks and would rather take that bag if I know I have a chance nobody will actually bother checking (EasyJet flight by the way)

Are you flying super budget saver economy cargo class?

Every international airline in the world will accept this. Some budget carriers like RyanAir or Scoot might make you pay extra but they’ll do the same for any carry one of normal size is most cases.

If you’re flying internationally, there will be no issue.

It's from UK to Netherlands. EasyJet allow a maximum size of 45cmX36cmX20cm for storing under seats. This bag comes in at 40cmX51cmX22cm

It's clearly bigger but I don't know how strict they would be. I think this would fit under a seat personally. But wondering if any European based DJs have had any luck sneaking it on

Is it really? Looks smaller than a rimowa case and you can definitely fly with that. Or do you mean the tiny Ryanair „personal item“?

The Ryanair personal item is slightly smaller. I know they will try and bleed you dry on absolutely anything they can. The personal carry on item for easyJet is slightly bigger but that bag is bigger than their allowance

I was touring with a large jetpack prime back in the day and never had issues on flights. I would tour with my mixer too (Rane 72) and it would always fit in the overhead

This bag would be intended for use under the seat in front of you. I'm guessing if I could get it on board they wouldn't have any jurisdiction over where I actually put it though

i've fit my jetpack prime under a seat without my dj gear in the past. only problem is if you get one of the seats with a divider splitting the spot

Ugh that sucks…

That reminds me, I actually have a (rather expensive) suitcase that is literally called „cabin“ but it’s 3cm too thick for those cheap airlines… would easily fit into the overhead bin.

Amazon do good backpacks for carrying on personal items. The below isnt the exact one I purchased before but it should fall within the airlines remit for carry on bags

I'd just rather take my UDG one since I paid a lot of money for it and so far have only used it for more local gigs.
