• Advice (Health) • Dog missing chunk of tail Spoiler
I'm not sure where else to post this. I live remote, vets are closed till Tuesday and there's no emerg in the area. My dog has randomly got a large bald spot missing from his tail. At first I thought maybe our other dog bit him but it is solidly bald. It doesn't seem to hurt him, I havent noticed him being overly itchy or biting his tail. He's a corgi. Any insight? I'm so worried. There is a scabby spot where hair is still growing through it. He didn't appear to have this spot yesterday.

You Can't you email the picture to some shelter or the breeder if not your normal vet service? You might need to get clever to find local medical help.
I am not a vet but this image looks like a simple scrape. We had a dog with a similar scrape on leg (from fence) that healed, hair grew back too, you can't tell it happened. I can't find the image of the injury ATM.
Your dog's apparent scrape and the hair may likewise heal assuming the dog and immune system is adequate. I'd gently clean it with betadine or similar. Don't let him lick it, a cone or similar restraint maybe required. Good luck.

Scabby spot with hair growing through is probably an infection underneath the scab. If no vets open I would gently remove the scab (air is bes to avoid infectjon) and rinse it well. As long as he doesn't bother it or get worse rapidly, should he fine until your vet opens
