I came across a leftist once who would rant about anything social being “pseudo-leftist”.

One of his biggest obsessions was that Scott Peterson (who murdered Laci peterson) was innocent.

He posted a lot of reactionary memes about blue haired overweight women

Way more common for men with leftist views to be misogynistic trash on one level or another than someone posing to get laid. Both political activism and music scenes on the left have problems with this stuff. Much, MUCH less so than the other side, but we do.

Idk. From what I've seen it seems like most of the time chuds deflect the subject and girls who fall for it are not thinking with their heads if he checks other boxes. It's a tendency people have in general if something attracts us enough.

Well a bunch of the undercover cops in the UK had kids with leftist women who didn't even know their real names. The enquiry into it has been going on for decades now which suggests it's really embarrassing for the state security forces. But also that they never want it released.

The views can’t be faked for long if they are principled and politely declining is usually better than pretending that you like genres. I’m a big brutal death metal fan and I would feel insulted if my wife pretended to like it at all.

Broadly speaking, right wingers are more morally flexible than left wingers. Emphasis on broadly, as there are plenty of morally flexible lefties as well (they usually end up like the Red Scare women, or Jackson Hinkle)

It's common but memes like this always portray it as more self-aware than it is. There are people who behave this way, but they don't know they are cynically using left aesthetics or language to try and seem cool, they convince themselves it's a sincerely held belief. They just don't act based on those principles becaus they haven't internalized them, they are just looking for a bandwagon to fit in. If you tied them to a chair with Wonder Woman's truth lasso they'd look you dead in the eye and say they're a leftist/marxist/whatever; they believe it they're just a self-serving hypocrite.
