Anonymous 5-min survey for Quebec youth (14–25) on access to mental health services (student project)

Hey everyone! I’m a Grade 12 student in Montreal and I run REACH, a student-led youth mental health org.

Quebec is putting millions into expanding youth mental health services like Aire ouverte, but nobody has actually checked whether young people have heard of them or know how to use them. So I’m checking.

The survey is:

  • fully anonymous (no name, school, or email)
  • about access only, no questions about your own mental health, symptoms, or diagnoses
  • for ages 14-25 living or studying in Quebec
  • about 5 minutes, in French or English

The new government is about to write Quebec’s next mental health action plan. Results go into a public report so the people writing it see what young people actually know.

FR: https://forms.gle/u7CVSsUpQSCeQv3H7

If you’re outside the age range, sharing it with someone who fits helps a lot. No pressure either way. Thanks 🙏

december EUF is dec 16. here's how i'd use the 8 weeks (timed essays, mistake count, CAF)

for anyone writing the EUF in december (dec 16 as far as i can tell, double check the ministry calendar), 8 weeks is enough if you don't spend it rereading grammar.

what i'd do: write 3 full essays under timed conditions with old prompts. the ministry has some and so does CCDMD. aim for 800+ words, i read that under 600 doesn't even get corrected.

count your mistakes on each one. the language critère is roughly 1 mistake per 30 words at the pass line, so you know fast if language is the problem or if it's argument/structure.

then take one corrected essay to the CAF and ask which 2 or 3 mistakes keep coming back. fix those, not everything.

all 3 critères can fail you on their own, so work on whichever one is your weakest.

which one is yours?

Organic chemistry 2

Is organic chemistry II still offered at Dawson College? I’m not a student here but might need to take the class as a prerequisite. I know other cegeps who had the course previously no longer offer the course because of the program change.Thank you in advance!

Winter semester

Hey, this might be a very dumb question.

Do current students need to confirm their spot for winter?

I’m currently enrolled this fall and planning to continue in the same program this winter. Do I need to complete anything to keep my spot, apart from registering for courses? I withdrew last fall but returned this semester, so I just want to make sure I don’t miss any steps or deadlines. Thanks!

Springboard to DCS

I am currently in the evening Springboard program at Dawson, and I want to transfer to the morning General Social Science program at Dawson. I would not be lying if I said that I am really scared. My current grades are in the 70s and 80s. What are the grade requirements for getting into the morning program, and do you think I will get accepted?

I'm scared of moving the loi 101 up to cegep

So, I come from two francophone parents, and I went to a French high school. I'm scared that if the PQ does what they said they would and incorporate the law 101 in cegep I won't be able to make my full choice about where I want to go. My choice was Dawson, but now I'm scared I won't even be able to apply. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you feel about this?

Am I doomed (nursing)

I just got my varicella vaccine 3 days ago to fill up the immunization form for the nursing clinicals. The deadline was yesterday and I assumed everything was great, however I just got the message from a teacher telling me that I'm not cleared for clinicals because I'm missing a tuberculosis test. And since I JUST got the varicella vaccine, I need to wait until November 3rd to be able to get the tuberculosis test. I requested a temporary conditional clearance so that I don't lose my clinical placement and for any alternative work, but she didn't answer my message yet. I'm so stressed guys pls help, does anyone know what's going to happen? Is failing the only option left?

Failed a 5% test, is there still hope for a 36 r score?

For context we had a 7 questions multiple choices quiz that was worth 5% in my humanity class. Since it was peer correcting, more than half of my class changed their answers because they were seated next to their friends, so they all got 100%, which inflated the average by a lot. I personally got a 57% and now I’m stressing that I won’t achieve a global 36 r score just because of humanity. My teacher is an easy grader for writing assignments, so the average is very high, and the max grade we can get is 95%. I’m afraid that I will end up with an r score in the low 30s.

physiotherapy technology

I’m thinking of applying to physiotherapy technology next fall. I’m in my first sem in vanier rn, and I already did my physics 5 in high school but I ended up getting a final bad grade ≈ 63 so I might consider retaking it.

Does anyone know what the cut-off was for last year’s, the minimum average needed ?

Also, are they going to look at my hs grades only or also my cegep grades?

Lastly, I would also like to know the potential job opportunities for this career program:)

for anyone who's in social science child education in dawson and social science general in JAC. How was you average? Specifically your math cst because it's listed as a prerequisites so i'm just wondering how much does it matter or do they just look at your overall grade? I'm applying this wintersem

Advice

Hey, I have kourosh for probs and stats and my first exam is coming soon. I heard so many bad reviews on him so I was wondering whether I should just skip both exams and ace the final by getting a 100. My goal is really to have the best grade possible but if his exams are worth 25% and most people fail, wouldn't it be better for me to just not take his exam at all and just study hard as fuck for the final since all teachers participate in its making?
