This is the Truman Show, we live an orchestrated lie

We work for ~50 years of our lives. 10-15 of those years you work for FREE because you lose 20-30% of your income every year in taxes so they can subsidize billionaires, bomb kids and topple governments overseas. So they can scheme and conspire and use every loophole and advantage to steal from you, they built and carefully crafted this system for themselves.

And what do we get for trading over a decade of our precious life time for free? Shit healthcare, insane gas prices and non stop inflation, crumbling infrastructure and politicians who don’t even speak English anymore. They speak in optics, buzz words, deception and ulterior motives.

We live in mass psychosis, denial, an indoctrinated since birth lie that’s too hard to swallow. An abstract system that was cleverly created without a face to blame when it ravages the world, so all you can say is “you can’t go against the system”. A Truman Show. Everything is a carefully crafted illusion of choice and freedom. We aren’t truly free.

Suffering in this world is a CHOICE that was made for us by those in power. Scarcity is artificial. There’s no reason we should have third world countries, hunger or homelessness or go in debt because I need a root canal.

Just stop for a second and let it all sink in, connect the dots, think about the vast resources this planet has and our ability to reach everyone around the globe in seconds or physically in hours. We could be so much more, so much better, so much kinder and so much more advanced spiritually and psychologically.

Just IMAGINE what human civilization could accomplish. The technology. The beautiful and inspiring architecture we could build instead of copy pasting shitty looking suburban hellscapes.

Many people will say I’m naive, that I romanticize life and that it can’t be that way…but…why? Why can’t the human experience be different, why can’t we pivot and realign our priorities? Why can’t we realize that we’re in this together and we have ALL the power. Imagine if majority of Americans just stop going to Walmart for a week? The damage and change we could accomplish if we organized is immense that’s why they want to divide us. They want us left or right, black or white, immigrant or citizen.

And the culprit for all of this? GREED, a million is not enough, abit of influence is not enough, abit of power is not enough, a big house is not enough. SUCCESS IS NOT ENOUGH. They want more and more and more and more, profits every quarter, more more more more.

WAKE UP.

You are right but Monday morning the average person will get into their overpriced car that isn't paid off, filled with expensive gas, go to their shitty job that they hate, come home and eat some overpriced and under nourishing food, in their house that isn't paid off and say "well what are you gonna do?"

The average person is so domesticated, so utterly defeated, that it's hopeless. They have not one ounce of bite or pushback left in them. Not even a trace.

What's even more alarming is that they don't even have the imagination to imagine that there COULD be a better world. They have lost their ability to even dream.

I think about this, constantly.

And because I’ve aged, I’ve become even more aware.

My current belief is that all human beings are fully aware that severe greed is what mainly exists in this life, and I think we purposely live to experience greed in a myriad of ways. As a sufferer and also a perpetrator of it.

That the challenge is to make a difference , if not for all, than those who depend on us. Not just family & friend/love relationships, but also work, neighbors and other community members.

It really does feel manufactured, especially with what’s going on in the US.

I think it’ll truly become better following the maturity of new generations and deaths of older ones. Especially with technology, information is everywhere now.

These regimes know this, that’s why they’re trying to pollute every social media with propaganda to try and control our perception of issues, and control what we’re supposed to care about.

Guys like Putin, Trump, or any of the rest of them, may not exist in the future.

I like this take but you are forgetting about the tach and AI billionaires. They will be the new ruling class with the same moral ethic code as the previous.

1

u/BlushMelodyn5 17h ago

yeah, but the maturity of new generations feels like a really long game.

u/Pongpianskul 1d ago

We don't all do this. Some of us hear the crazy plan society lays out and say wtf? No way I'm falling for that. No one has a gun to our heads (yet). It is possible to break free of the scam.

How u get around needing money

3

u/Pongpianskul 18h ago

You can earn enough money to live decently without enslaving yourself. When we get greedy and want to buy things we do not need, then life gets very expensive.

2

u/Ludoergosum0 9h ago

thats the way!

Every decision for a new (overprized) phone, car, bycicle etc. is the decision tp trade money for lifetime (that you have to work)

u/ytpriv 1d ago

The US is being subverted by a foreign entity, and that subversion is causing all u mentioned ever since before I was born….

The answer to every why you asked. The flesh of cows feed the farmers who keep them. Yet a cow believes living on the farm is right, but the farmer is wrong for butchering their calfs. When other cows are slaughtered they'll wail, then go back to eating the grass and believing being on the farm is okay. They don't get that they've been changed fundamentally for the worse and can't imagine themselves living as wild animals. Because that's no longer an option for them. It's too normal for people to live in societies within nations set against outsiders. Most don't want change that takes away their own stability, so they end up supporting keeping others from change as well. All the while blaming those with influence over societies, while denying their own natures is what fundamentally keeps things this way. If people change too much they can't fit into society as well, so they go with the flow and just blame their leaders. If all this wasn't so, non-response bias would have a vastly different impact on humanity.

and then monday rolls around and everyone's gotta pay rent so it's back to the grind. the dots are connected, it's the next step that's the hard part

This is why I started growing weed as a side hussel. Not loads so I don't have to worry about jail but enough to let me enjoy holidays and can work less.

It can also be about very targeted historically relevant things; for example, the offshoring of the production process unilaterally was so destructive, that it enabled the type of paradigm you're lamenting to become normalized across generations because it didn't all happen at once, it was coordinated, it took time..

It takes time to deregulate finance, and destroy labor protections, it takes time, and effort to work hand in hand with the military congressional industrial complex, to establish international trade deals and production contracts..

It takes time to incentivize the privatization of education, and to lock in the privatization of healthcare, it takes time to shake all those hands, make all those calls, send all those emails, sign all those contracts, make all those partners..

It takes time, years and years, and in these parts of the country it takes longer, in those parts of the country it happens quicker, It's not just people wanting more and more and more, it's that and a lot of other things.

22 million millionaires in the US alone, think about that..

yea yea equity, nurses, doctors, hard workers, okay, anyway, that doesn't change the fact that, there are 22 MILLION, millionaires..

22 MILLION.. out of 53 million across the rest of the globe. Think about how much space 22 million people can take up, how much influence their lives hold, how much leverage their decisions have on the rest of society that doesn't stand up to their liquid or illiquid wealth..

And yea not everyone wants to labor, and the circumstance that made life good for the labor class in the west was novel, but it wasn't illogical or miraculous, it was the intended outcome of a coordinated effort to establish an international system of exchange that built markets and infrastructure across the world, without neoliberal financialized production instruments obfuscating money laundering, and other many horrific crimes to say nothing of the polluting elements and kinetic operations on behalf of the military and security / intelligence forces.

Still, to make the world out to be a hallucination is a very effective way to muddy your hands before getting any work done.

I definitely believe that there is a chance in the future where we could make those decisions but it definitely hinges on our ties to money. Obviously this one of the most debated topic in our existence now. We all succumb to finances because if you don’t play the game you lose hard. Social media sucks for what it is because we praise rich people mostly on it. Even if you aren’t rich most people only talk about vacations, buying homes, eating fancy dinners. It’s all to flaunt. We need to shift how we as people use the internet and what’s “cool” online. What are we talking about. This is part of the reason I follow Deep Thoughts because it gives me hope that a lot of people do yearn for something different. While we all participate in the game right now it doesn’t make that a permanent decision. We need leaders to help everyone understand just how dangerous of a game we have been playing and how drastically different the world could be if we use our voices and our strength to build something better. It’s a leap of faith but I do believe the majority of humans out here want a change. We owe to our ancestors and our civilization to not let this be permanent. Money truly is the root of all evil. Just my two cents. I know resources and hard work don’t just magically appear but it doesn’t mean we can’t shift our focus to something that makes more sense for us and our beautiful planet. I don’t believe that to be naive I believe that to be strength in the face of insane adversity. It takes massive courage to even believe we can change things but it doesn’t start until we continue having these deep discussions. Thank you for your post ☝🏼

the part that actually ruins my whole week is knowing we could fix healthcare by tuesday afternoon if congress felt like it. like genuinely, both sides sit down, stop the theater for five minutes, single-payer system up and running. but thats the agrotourism equivalent of asking them to skip a fundraising dinner, so instead we get to keep pretending insulin needs to cost more than my car payment lol

u/lordcycy 1d ago

Why can't we realize that we're in this together and we have ALL the power.

Because we are not one yet. We need a new and old human identity to resurface.

Our mess started when there was famine and some started eating other humans. They kept doing it. It created castes. And that's the current identity.

If we refound that identity on what we used to be and what we're meant to be, then we could start acting as one without having to force a smile or wanting to use cops on the population.

Look at what religion does: it gives human qualities to God and a bunch of lies that are disproven when growing up. So we start disbelieving God exists and we classify the truth about us that was inscribed in God as a myth too.

We could all start identifying with God. But the safest route would be to just see ourselves as love. If we all agree that the "thing" that's experiencing consciousness and its content is love, then we'd have a shared identity again. And we could act as one without needing for scapegoats (which was really a patch and not a solution). It'd be less time consuming, it'd be more fun, it'd rid each and all of fearing becoming the scapegoat, and we'd actually all return to childhood because that's who children are, love.

Are you not... entertained?

3

u/saudade_sleep_repeat 1d ago

if suffering is a choice, then choose not to suffer.

8

u/SageWithTheSauce 1d ago

I don’t say that people who suffer chose to suffer, that’s the whole point of this post. We can reduce suffering across the globe in unprecedented coordinated efforts by first world countries. That’s not the priority though….

And I don’t want to be super pessimistic, there are ALOT of good people out there. It just seems that our leaders could do so much more for humanity and the fact that they don’t and focus their energy on mostly wars is very telling.

1

u/olduvai_man 1d ago

To be fair, your post is incredibly pessimistic and there is as much to be thankful for about modern society as there is to criticize.

There is always room for improvement but, if the past is any indicator, it will likely be meaningful but slow.

3

u/SageWithTheSauce 1d ago

Yes definitely, we have alot of things to be grateful for and I am. But just like the Truman Show or the Matrix, do we settle for this illusion and familiar comfort of blissful ignorance because “this is how it’s always been” or do we remove the veil?

Also I completely understand that change takes time and it’s not a switch you can flip. Unfortunately I feel that at least in the US, many people are very apathetic and would rather choose the blue pill.

With how polarized and politicized everything got for example, yet a third of the country doesn’t even vote. Thats crazy to me.

0

u/olduvai_man 1d ago

I'm not sure how the current situation is meant to relate either of those films, but I think your viewpoint on modern society is rooted in pessimism and doesn't have as much depth as you think it does.

People can recognize problems, but have different diagnoses or possible solutions that differ from yours and it doesn't mean they haven't "removed the veil".

There's plenty to criticize about our priorities or the current distribution of power, but you're oversimplifying everything in a way that makes it very hard to take seriously.

People will always create elaborate conspiracy theories where they are the victims rather than accepting any accountability. A lot of people need to be validated and get affirmation from other people. They didn’t make any one do anything. It’s something people tend to not about the character of Satan. He can’t subvert free will, all he can do is set the stage for people to succumb to their own weakness. People have created this, they wanted to keep others down they were content as long as they had someone to look down on. They needed everyone and all our institutions to believe in their religion, for power to be held by people who were part of their demographic. People were too weak and cowardly to stand for something regardless of the consequences. They didn’t take anything people traded their individuality, their independence, owning themselves in exchange for the comfort and sense of security they got from belonging to the herd. No one is going to liberate or enlighten us. Either people grow up and take responsibility for their world view, philosophical, and spiritual beliefs or stay safe running around the track. Contentment, fulfillment, satisfaction will always be just out of reach. You will be one promotion, one car, one house, ect away from feeling complete. I know that I don’t know, but everyone has been telling me my whole life they have it figured out. It took a long time to realize they weren’t trying to give me guidance, the fact i didn’t buy into their trip was an existential threat to the life they were living because everyone said that was how they should live. I’ve slept on sidewalks and woke up happier than it appears billionaires do. The only person whose approval I seek is my own, being my authentic self is my only ambition. The only thing that can keep that going comes from within. It’s a tough road but it’s the only way I know.

“But there are a few people—the ones alluded to in the title—who look upon the suffering child and do not turn back to the bright and beautiful city. Instead, driven by some ineffable word deep within, they keep walking, walking out alone, away from all that they have known and seen. “-The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

I'm with you. I feel like we haven't evolved far enough past our caveman days. Greed is basically celebrated. Companies are encouraged to make products that will fail so they can make more money, and that just trashes Earth.

I think we can be different. We need more people believing that things can be better. Then we just apply that difference.

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

Your assessment is correct.
The vast majority of humans live in a fantasy world of delusion which has absolutely no connection to actual reality.
-Some of this delusion was handed to us at birth from our (typically) well-meaning but equally delusional ancestors.
-And some of it is manufactured and maintained by a cabal of humans who have constructed this hellscape in order to preserve their power, status, and wealth.
-We individual humans also manufacture our own delusional reality which firmly enslaves us to the "show".

I consider the movie, "The Matrix" to be a documentary.
I don't believe that machines control us and our reality (at least not yet).

But the vast majority of humans live in their delusionary fantasy worlds and are so entrenched into this delusion that they will fight anybody who attempts to awaken them from their self-created, self-maintained dream world.
Most people stubbornly do not want to drop their delusional, self-created realities.
And yet, they never quite feel satisfied.

Humans chase after a promise of "meaning" that will purportedly make them "happy" and "satisfied".
This is the myth.
But, since this delusional thing doesn't actually exist, it can never be attained.
The result is frustration, anger, depression, emptiness. A feeling that something is missing.

u/Fabulous-Internet188 1d ago

I encourage you to research [Hypernrmalization](https://www.upworthy.com/hypernormalization-explained/)

Which is where everyone knew the system was failing, but since no one could imagine a possible alternative to the status quo, politicians and citizens alike were resigned to maintaining the pretense of a functioning society. Sound familiar?

Little black rock

You found me in my fear Crying out and fighting with the air The gift you give grew in darkness so clear That clicking shimmering warmth kept me there

You showed me I am surrounded by you I found deep chambers of you holding, shaping light You taught me structure through form and shape is beautiful even if it wasn't true How am I ever going to prove you with my small sight

You showed me how to break you apart You showed me how to learn through art You taught me to sleep consciously Do not be sorry for the dreams you keep monstrously

You put me back together for so long Convincingly unaware, I believed we were alone Of all the ways you'd dissappear I was confidently wrong You are never silent as you ring within stone You created me to worship you then changed into what I fear

These eyes have taken the freedom of will from my every swollowed day Staring into a dark reflection of my own face ignoring you away A small black stone full of light Staring back at a flickering ember refusing to fight.

insane gas prices.... Try The Netherlands with close to 12 USD per Gallon.

1

u/McPoon 1d ago

I've been saying exactly this since I was quite young. It was very obvious to me. I constantly wondered why everyone around is just okay with everything to the point of defending this life. At 37, I'm exhausted, truly, of companies, governments, etc. It's all ridiculous and pathetic and needs to crumble. We rule with greed instead of kindness. Our "presidents" are nothing more than Kings who Do Not care about their country. I have not really seen one ever Truly care about their people since I've been born. I have no idea why we look up to these high-school bullies. sigh

I really don't find this fitting for "deep thought".. more like idk shallow consideration. Perhaps somewhere in between like I can touch with my tippy toes with my head back deep. Nobody says you HAVE to do anything, your life is just going to be lived accordingly, and for what its worth even poverty in todays world is not bad compared to nearly all of human history.

Just IMAGINE what humans HAVE accomplished. I get the sentimental hugs and kisses for your fellow man, however that isn't how it'll ever be. Never in the history of our species have we been organized as a whole or even close. Even the smallest of societies, wind up having at the least 2 or more splits in the population which are a direct result of differences. Tribal life sure, however that ended ultimately, and unfortunately.. due to other people who were different in what they saw in this life, on this earth.

Worrying too much about these things that will never change will only bring you more grief than you need. Don't need to be at work all day thinking about these things while uncle sam takes 20-30 ya know?

You say you romanticize life but I don't see that here. I would say re-examine all that you have said in this post specifically the negatives with that claim and maybe throw those thoughts away. You could focus on the things around you, that make you feel this want for more, and those small things in there that people do which you mentioned, you could continue a list of small changes. A small way for your own effect. Escape the 9-5? I dont know your circumstances, but people do it all the time.

Too many people go through life looking for happiness. They do constantly hope that that new house, car, phone, vacation, or the next new significant other will arrive, and that’s when happiness will arrive. But you can’t rely on someone else or something else to make you happy. It will never happen like that. But if you find happiness in yourself then all the extra are just that extras. Unfortunately the majority of people are unhappy. Unhappy people do some really shitty things.

1

u/Starduster75 1d ago

"They" are at it again, huh? "They" are always up to something smh.

-1

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

You do realize that all the things you consume were generated by someone else right? A lot of people? And if they didn’t you would have to grow your own food, maintain your own environment, figure out how to get your own water, etc. Because that was what it was like before this age. There was no time for anything else but what was required to survive. So having any free time at all is kinda nice in comparison

3

u/PhyPhillosophy 1d ago

Doomers unironically dont understand why they dont get everything for free and anyone that doesnt give them everything for free bad.

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

This in no way addresses the issue raised by the OP.
Those people who generate "stuff" are also enslaved by the same delusional "Truman show".

The question was not "how can we make products easier?".
The question was, "how can we make everything less delusional, more rational, and more fair, with equal opportunity for everybody?"

0

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

The global child mortality rate was 23% in 1950 and it’s 3.6% today. Child mortality rate is something used to analyze the trend of society. Access to healthcare, better education, etc are all contributors to child mortality rate. The fact that it is down this much means that we have been making progress. It used to be a lot worse before 1950 as well

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

Still not addressing the original OP comment.

0

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

I’m saying that people have been trying to make things more fair, rational, and equal opportunity. We didn’t just get here by sheer luck. Just because we have further to go does not mean we have not made progress

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

Okay. Still not addressing the essential question being asked.

1

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

I’m pretty sure my comment just said we are addressing it with actual statistics. If you cannot understand that then I can’t really say anything else

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

No need to be angry at me that you do not understand the question.

1

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

I’m not angry, but if you’re going to lurk in a sub called deep thoughts please be open to actually having a real discussion. Otherwise this was an entirely pointless exercise

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

What is it you want to know?

1

u/GarbageLower6533 1d ago

It doesn't need to be addressed. It pseudo-intellectual nonsense that should be ignored.

1

u/Powderedeggs2 1d ago

So, you don't understand the point either.
Good to know.

0

u/Bat-Stuff 1d ago

Go away bot.

0

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

Lmao I’m a real person, I just have a working brain thanks

0

u/Bat-Stuff 1d ago

I couldn't tell. Your statement was hollow and worthless.

1

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

Unfortunately an argument cannot be made from someone who lacks critical thinking skills

1

u/Bat-Stuff 1d ago

Acting like everything's perfect is critical thinking? I hope you realize your post had no critical thinking the op's post. It's not like we have to go back in time just because we want a better future.

1

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago

I didn’t say everything is perfect (realizing that I didn’t is critical thinking). You want to dismantle a system but keep the goods it outputs? That won’t work. That is my point. I also wish for a better future but that requires thought on how to fix what’s wrong and not just destroy what we have. Because then there would be nothing

0

u/Bat-Stuff 1d ago

You're obviously stuck in the box of the current system and we need thinkers with creativity and hope for the future. Providing the basics is actually very easy in today's world and if there wasn't the greedy people fucking up the system, it would be better already. Your thought was not deep and you seem like a bot.

2

u/Overall_Round4025 1d ago edited 18h ago

Okay if you must resort to insults because you cannot come up with something real to say, then I don’t really have anything more say to you.

Also if you think providing the basics is easy you are massively delusional in how much work humans put in everyday to have what we have. Damn

1

u/Bat-Stuff 1d ago

Do you not understand what the word "basics" means? You think all us humans are only creating the "basics" right now?

I’m 31 and trust me, I understand how it all sounds. But do you ever wonder why do we feel that this type of sentiment is childish? Why can’t the current human experience be met with the same energy?

Why do we only like to take accountability and responsibility when it comes to individuals?

If I told you a story about a talented friend that had huge potential and threw it all away to be lazy and smoke weed all day and I said damn he could be so much better if he only realized his potential. Would you tell me that it’s naive and childish to think that?

Thats exactly what I’m talking about, we’ve been brainwashed to the point where a better future looks like a naive dream of a 14 year old than a reality.

0

u/Junior-Calendar-4244 1d ago

There's a lot presumed there about what should and shouldn't be from your perspective, which is fair, given that it is your perspective; I want to highlight it to make another point:

No one, not one person, can see into another person and make absolute judgements or assessments that aren't adulterated by bias and opinion and emotion. Did they throw it all away to be lazy and smoke weed? Or, did they retreat, did they fail, did someone hurt them, did they hurt someone, did they lie to you, are they fighting the same fight you're fighting but in a different way?

Life cannot afford to be as simple as we can make it out to be in exasperation.

And anyway, what kind of world are you trying to build where the lazy pot smoker is also just as much a stain on it that they are in ours in the eyes of people who out of nothing more than luck and circumstance find themselves looking down on them?

1

u/Ok-Pride6373 1d ago

First of all the problem is that a lot of people are losing their faith in God. That's the biggest reason the world is not an ideal place. You didn't even touch on that. So everything else you say is not worth reading.

Here I am discussing a better future for humanity where we are less divided and a holier than thou redditor appears telling me that because I didn’t mention religion - none of it is worth reading and then called me a naive 14 year old. Is that how you represent your faith? You go on Reddit and attack people unprovoked lmao?

I hope you have a better day 🙃

Oh boy. It sure does hurt sometimes, huh? But "you clearly don't understand". Somehow they can't fathom some of us are legit just able to think and feel without 'god' and his spokesmen directing our every thought. Funnily enough it's always the holiest of them who are the most condescending, egocentrical and confident, all while spouting the most illogical and non-scientific nonsense. The 'attack on god' as the biggest "psyop" my ass lmao. I don't even have the will to take such takes serious anymore. The world would be a better place, and much much much more sincere, without religion. Amen.

The cognitive dissonance and irony is fascinating. I’m talking about let’s be better and more united. Buddy comes in here and starts attacking me because I didn’t mention religion… as they write about how you can’t have morals without religion 😂

The elites don’t even have to try anymore. We do this to ourselves 🤷🏻‍♂️

Clearly you don't understand what you are talking about so let me break it down for you.

No god = everyone serving their own desires = a million different desires (eg. some people want rain so their crops grow while others don't want rain so they can mine for gold) = more conflict.

So in the ideal world of a lot of nonreligious people, such as yourself presumably, there is more division.

No god = no meaning = no purpose = nothing uniting humanity for a greater goal = everything you said being some vain nonsense aimed at hedenistic pleasure which will ultimately destroy humanity. You can just do heroin right now and you are in an ideal world in your head.

The funny thing is the biggest psyop you didn't even mention is the attack on God because once you believe in God, everything actually makes sense. And this psyop is aimed at somewhat intelligent people which is the sad part that most of them buy into it.

Lol if you think your taxes are 20-30%.

Your fully loaded tax wedge is WELL over 50%.

Kurze Gedanken:
