There is an all-time best selling book proven over and over again to help artists see more accurately and simply become better all around because it helps you with painting or drawing or anything and that is Betty Edwards book titled “drawing on the right side of the brain.“
Don’t worry about the scientific claims, just check out the exercises in the book and do them all multiple times, and you will be amazed at your improvement. When you can see more clearly, you can create more easily.

Best advice I could give, draw. Everything, anything and all the time, don't let your arm, and most important, your mind to stay still. Just don't overdo it, carpal tunnel is nothing to laugh about.
