Blown Head Gasket

Hello! I have a blown head gasket on my passenger side 8th cylinder, since that is already being done, should I do a performacne cam shaft and MDS delete? I have a 2021 dodge durango RT. I just want to daily drive, but since the labor hours cross over, is it worth it?

If your in California, then no, don’t do it, you won’t pass smog. If your in a different state, do it, might as well make it fun.

Doing the MDS delete requires more than just a new cam and lifters. You'll need to retune the pcm to not try and activate the MDS system. It's not a bad system, just a large money sink right up front for everything that's needed.

I’m doing this now on my Challenger with the same engine. Paid about $2500 for the 797 Performance Maximizer 2.5 cam kit. It has everything you’re talking about. MDS delete, Hellcat lifters, Hellcat oil pump and all the gaskets. PCM unlock and credits (HP Tuners) will cost another $800. But my car was already tuned a year ago so my PCM was already unlocked. I personally would do it, If you have the extra $3k+
