Heater Hose Failure question

Hey all. Considering a 26 or 27 Durango V8 but I’ve seen a lot of complaints on the heater hose failure. I’d like to try and understand how widespread this is. Any first experience you can provide would be helpful!

And is this only an issue for the v8? While I prefer the 5.7 I would be perfectly happy with the 3.6, especially if it affords more peace of mind.

Happened to me once with about 2500-3000km on brand new 5.7 and they fixed it under warranty hasn't been an issue since and up to 11k now.
