Dolly Parton deserves to stand alongside the greatest Americans honored in Washington, D.C. Growing up admiring her, it's clear she's more than just an incredible musician—she's someone who's genuinely changed lives through her Imagination Library, her charity work, and her ability to bring people together across political and cultural divides.
I started a petition because I believe it's time we recognize her contributions by placing her statue in the Capitol Building. Tennessee can temporarily replace either Andrew Jackson's statue (there since 1928) or John Sevier's (since 1931) with a marble or bronze statue of Dolly. This isn't about erasing history—it's about choosing to elevate the values we want to represent: generosity, innovation, and an inclusive spirit. Her work on education, healthcare, and social causes shows what American compassion actually looks like.
What draws you to Dolly's legacy? Is there someone else you think deserves this kind of recognition? If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing the petition. Your voice helps show our state representatives what we want to celebrate as a nation.

These are Dolly Parton’s 1987 variety show intros, Episodes 1–8 ✨💖
The original glam-pop, synth-heavy era before the big format change turned the show toward a more down-home country feel in Episode 9. A little time capsule of Dolly’s 80s pop era! 🎹💋

I was able to go this week and it was so wonderful ! The costumes are incredible, the clips and performances are magical and seeing Dolly in every room was such a treat. It really does touch on every aspect of her life. And her “honorary Muppet” award is there too. A few photos.

Hello, all. I’m trying to track down what episode of which TV show this outfit of Dolly’s this is from. I’m guessing that it’s from her show, but I definitely could be wrong. Does anyone recognize the outfit? Could anyone tell me where I can find a clip to watch this segment? Thanks in advance.

Do not waste you money on this bottle. It was broken when I opened the box. I sent for a returns request request 3 weeks ago. I have sent 4 emails because there is no phone number. No one has even bothered with my return request. It says they get back to you within a day. Horrible experience. Plus it smells awful.

I’m so sad. Her and Carl are both gone and they’re not coming back. I honestly forget most of the time but sometimes it hits me. I wish they both lived longer.
What are your guys’s favorite memories of Dolly?

yes i know jolene was written about a woman that carl had met and who had flirted with him but did she write any other songs that were specific a tribute to carl or about stories involving carl?

Can you believe she didn’t think of herself as a “natural beauty”?!?
Not sure the location, but Google images dates this shot to 1978. 1978 was a huge year for Dolly as it marked her transition into mainstream pop/disco.

I was wondering how she played guitar with those nails 💅🏻 So I found this video (which explains it) but more so I was amazed at her unique style as this man explains it.** Does anyone know how and when she learned to play?**!
