Discussion DUA by AB Pop-up experience (NYC)
I recently went to the pop up and I want to see if anyone else had the same experience as me.
For context I had went twice. The first time I went was about a week ago with my sister and we were curious about the skincare as I had not heard about the line. As soon as we walked in only one person spoke to us with a sullen hi we just walked around checking out the products out. No one else greeted us or even ask if we were looking for something (mind you there was 2 other girls that were there checking out the pop up shop and and they got a whole different reaction, they were welcomed in, got showed the tour, how the products worked, and got to try out the facials). After that we left since we didn’t really feel welcomed there.
A week later today I had mentioned to my friends about this pop up since they had a free Photo Booth and they had wanted to get a closer look at the products. Today when I went in with them we actually got greeted and shown around to the headset area and we actually got to try their products. In all fairness we didn’t go in with the intent of buying anything since imo with skincare idk if the product would work for me long term and for the price point I wasn’t willing to risk it. We tried out the product and we all said we’d think about it and the lady helping us test the product gave us a side eye as if we wasted her time. WHO IS DROPPING $180 (discount price btw) FOR A SKINCARE SET IN THIS ECONOMY JUST BC IT LOOKS NICE ON MY HAND?
All in all I feel as if the pop up was catered towards people with a certain look rather than WOC. And it would have been nice to actually receive skincare samples to actually try the product at home instead of having to purchase all 3 to receive a cheap tote bag and makeup bag
Also:
- no protein bites or drink was offered both times like the pop up had mentioned
- don’t waste ur time going there for the Photo Booth the lighting is horrible
