PhD admissions & info Roadmap to get a Phd

Hi everyone i am actually ending my masters degree in computer engineering with a focus in cybersecurity and I ā€˜d like to continue my studies of security with a PhD. For all of you have got a PhD in EPFL, can you suggest me the roadmap to maximize the likelihood to get it? Something from searching for professors and contacting them to Making some research oriented projects. I am interested in binary exploitation and malware analysis

Easy road: during Masters degree visit the lab you want to do your PhD at as a visiting student and tell them that when you graduate you will be looking for a PhD in general. If they like you, they will find money and typically offer you a PhD.

How do I do the visiting? Iā€™ m actually attending a Msc degree

Find a lab you want to go to. Then talk to your mentor/programm coordinator about it. They will tell you the possible options and help make initial contact if your program allows an exchange project

If that's not possible, how can you still try to get in? I also want to do a PhD there but I am already doing my master's project in another lab/university

Make contact through your current PI/mentor and propose to write a scholarschip.
