Success after ectopic

July 13th I was having emergency surgery to remove my left tube and the baby growing inside it. I was 6w3d and we saw the heartbeat that morning. My only symptom was dark spotting since before I found out I was pregnant. The EPU were absolutely great & my recovery was quick. After the surgery the doctor showed me a picture and the “baby” was as large as my ovary! Seemed incredible to me that it hadn’t ruptured.

Following the surgery we skipped one cycle to let my body heal then started trying. We got pregnant on our second try (just like the first time). The anxiety since finding out has been intense but I didn’t have any symptoms.

This morning at 5w2d I had a scan and we saw the yolk sac and the very start of a fetal pole. The relief we feel is incredible. Also found out I ovulated from the side of my missing tube!

If I could go back and tell the version of myself from 3 months ago I would love to reassure her that all will be well. She was spiralling, imagining the very worst for her future fertility. But all really is well; the best scenarios you can imagine are as likely as the worst ❤️

Hey! Congratulations, that's amazing news! 😁 I've had an ectopic earlier this year, now I'm pregnant again with a baby that decided to make the trek all the way to the correct location too! 😂 Sending lots of positive vibes for the rainbow babies 🌈

I really needed this today. Thank you for sharing. I’m on my 3rd period since trying again and it can be mentally hard, especially when my first pregnancy was ectopic and happened on the first try. Manifesting a healthy boring pregnancy for all of us!

I needed to hear this because my RE keeps saying how UNLIKELY and rare it is for my left tube to pick up an egg when I ovulate from the right side, which was the case this month.

My ectopic was in my right tube and I ovulated from the left side that month so I don’t think it’s as rare as they are trying to convince me.

I lost my right tube due to an ectopic. Got pregnant and at my first scan they told me I ovulated from my right ovary. So my left tube had to pick it up because I don’t have a right tube. Wild stuff!

That’s awesome! How long did it take you to conceive after your ectopic?

Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your success after your ectopic experience. I really needed to read this. I just started my period yesterday after our first cycle TTC post ectopic and I felt so depressed. Feelin a lot better today, and scheduled my HSG.

Thank you for this❤️ I needed this it really gives me hope as I’m in that situation right now only difference is I had methotrexate treatment still doing blood tests every week waiting for my HSG levels to go down. Congratulations
