Question Trusted roofing company recommendations for a few shingles lost in the great blowing of 2026?

I lost a few shingles, I'm pretty sure, but I'm not sure how many. I'm looking for recommendations from people who have dealt with this before and can suggest good companies so I can start calling around for quotes. Thanks

Anyone have leads on WW ladies shoes? I know Clark’s does them but they’ve been disappointing when I’ve bought them previously.

Torrid used to have gorgeous ww shoes but they’ve stopped shipping shoes to Canada 😭

Politics ⚠️ Separatist Rally at Legislature today - Counter-protest anyone?

TL;DR Separatists having a rally at Alberta Legislature at 3pm. One guy just letting you know, I’ll be there to counter this nonsense, and would love for you (dear reader) to join me.

(If this is too ‘much, totally get it, just please vote; because they will be. Advanced polls close today, Monday is going to be a gong show)

I’m going down to the legislature today to remind our lost in the US propaganda sauce, bussed in neighbours from rural areas… that we’re Canadian.

Share a hearty chuckle at their expense, sing some Canadian songs. Just be generally fun, respectful and much more sane / grounded than the former convoy, now turned “poud bertan” crowd will be.

There’s sure to be police there to keep the two groups separate (I was there in October of last year when they kicked off this lunacy… and other than one large large man in army gear trying to challenge me to fight… it was mostly just banter)

Not an official organizer of anything… just tired of these clowns getting together and making up ridiculous numbers of attendees, saying the stupidity out loud. And not being checked by the rest of us.

Health Referred to the Kipnes Urology Centre in December 2024. Still no appointment, just a reminder letter every 90 days.

In December 2024 I was referred to the Kipnes Urology Centre in Edmonton. It's now October 2026, almost two years later, and nobody has scheduled an appointment with me.

What I do get is a reminder every 90 days, like clockwork. So the system clearly knows I exist. It just isn't doing anything about it.

Meanwhile my situation isn't getting better. I could handle a long wait if I had a date, or even some idea where I am in line. Instead I get a letter every three months that basically says "you're still waiting."
I know the staff aren't the problem and I know the whole system is stretched.

But almost two years with nothing scheduled is hard to take. It's just sad.
Anyone else waiting this long for urology in Edmonton? Did anything actually move your case along?

Question I lost my birth certificate when I was out, what do I do?

I was on my way to work and didn't realize I had my birth certificate on me, I noticed I did when I went to pay at the LRT station. When I got to my job it was gone.

What steps should I take from here?

General Near Death Experience on the Henday today

If you are the driver of a suv with the plate PRESHY, or know that person, please for the love of God remind them about shoulder checks. They almost caused a multi vehicle collision on the henday at 430 ish. It was a good thing that the vehicles beside me were paying attention and I was able to get space in two lanes for this person to change lanes without side swiping me….and when I caught up beside them, they were completely unbothered.
I don’t know who’s paying that insurance, but at this rate, it’s going to go up.

Hobbies Calling all Dice Throne players. Taps Games is hosting a special tournament on Nov 21st.

Taps Games is hosting a special tournament on Saturday, November 21st to close off the Age of Vitality organized play season. They are planning for up to 64 players, with prize support. All players will receive store credit based on how many games they win, as well as a selection of alt-art boards. The top eight players will receive additional prizes, including a Vanguard Strongbox for 1st place.

This is an official Organized Play event, and will be the largest ranked play game in the Western Canada region this age. Anyone chasing top spots on the leaderboard should see if they can attend. There's already confirmed participants from five cities

More info at the link above, and on the Challonge registration page. The more people who register early, the more people will be persuaded to sign up. We filled a 64 player tournament at GameCon Canada in Edmonton earlier this year, so hopefully we can do it again.

Tell your friends. Drag along your family. I'm very excited to see a huge turnout. Hope to see a lot of people there!

General Easy gravel paths for cycling

I am a pure road cyclist. I like hard smooth surfaces. That said, I’m doing a supported ride next summer that has “several short gravel sections”.

The term “gravel” seems so arbitrary (I’m picturing the gravel country roads of my youth) but I assume these are hard packed or level 2 gravel, whatever that means, nothing crazy as they say they are suitable for my 32mm tires.

I’m sure there are tons in the area for me to train on, I just don’t know where and would love some suggestions to try.

Thanks in advance.

Local Culture Baba Yaga at Shadow Theatre

The talent and production expertise in Edmonton continue to amaze me.

Tonight we saw Yaga. I was so sad to see that the theater was only half full because every aspect of this show is absolutely spectacular! Tickets are $25 to $40, but it's like seeing a $200+ production.

Question Where to find pleated skirts like this?

Been on the hunt for a midi-maxi skirt with this wide pleated style. I can’t buy online because I have weird proportions and need to try on before buying. So difficult to find! Most stores only carry narrow pleated skirts. Preferably dark coloured. Anywhere around the city is fine. Thank you so much!!

Question Did I see Mark Carney on the LRT this morning?

I think Carney is in Edmonton today. As I was commuting to work, I saw him or someone that looks very much like him. What’s crazy is that nobody noticed (or didn’t care).

Politics With the emergency debate on infill happening, it's worth revisiting this exchange from February where infill opponents said rental properties create slums and renters should have to live on arterial roads only. It was never about "unit counts"
