Discussion Pulse check?

Absolutely zero word from EF on their Instagram. Do we think we're still expecting the lineup in a couple months/any more announcements? Curious what the future looks considering all the silence and hoping for good news.

As loud as the noise got over the summer respectfully there is nothing the anti forest crowd could do to stop the event from happening moving forward and theres nothing the event could have done to prevent those insane tragedies. There is WAY too much money and infrastructure built in rothbury now for them to simply say yup the internets upset at us so were going to give up MILLIONS of future revenue to satisfy people who dont even go to the festival. See yall in 2027!

Oh it's tens of millions too. If you just consider every ticket sold at GA prices w/ car camping and not even early arrival or GA+/VIP Tix they look at about $32Mil in revenue JUST from ticket sales. Obviously they have all of their costs that come out of that and it isn't pure profit, but I would imagine they look at upwards of $10Mil in profit after operational costs. No shot that just gets thrown away because of Internet drama nor THE big tragedy from this year.

I doubt those numbers but regardless, "made" and profited are two very different things. Festivals are extremely expensive to throw and the majority of them don't make any money. Forest is definitely an exception to that but I guarantee they don't profit anywhere near as much as people think

Thats what I think too! No way they don't go on with 2027. One event (that isn't even EF's fault) couldn't be enough reason for something to change!

yeah never listen to the online frenzy anti everything propaganda - and reddit is honestly the worst peddler of it all.

my bet is fest will still be on as scheduled, if they see decreased ticket sales this year in retribution then maybe next year we can discuss if it dies out, but i strongly doubt it

iirc they’ll start posting in november

Exactly. Most of really negative conversation has been from people who don’t go to the festival and are averse to the scene. It was just a reason to fight with people on Reddit and push an agenda. It’s hardly representative of festival attendees or public perception.

Local here, it's not the keyboard warriors or upset people of the internet you have to worry about. It's the local conservatives who are pushing to have EF's permits suspended. This isn't the first and only bad thing to come out of this festival. Many people have died here over the years, and everyone here knows it's a drug fueled 4 day bender. The festival does not have a good reputation around here.

Like I said above im not worried about anyone. The same facts remain and mr local conservative realistically has zero power regarding forest existing and happening again. The decisions are made by the rothbury village board and the last known word from them was quite literally nothing and no comment. Its also not JUST a drug fueled 4 day bender when theres literally an entire sober camp and many people who arent apart of that are also sober. Yeah drugs are involved but lets touch reality for a second and realize drugs are a heavy part of american society at this point and we should encourage safe usage and open minds in the big old 2026 anyways 🤷

It's happening. Forest is a business and businesses like to make money regardless of what the evangelical weirdo keyboard warriors have to say. They're staying silent so they forget and move on to the next thing to be angry at. Post election, I bet we'll see some news

2025 they didn't post anything about 2026 till November. This is normal, and there is multiple confirmations. At this point it's basically a guarantee.

This is very normal, they usually don't really post at all between the end of the fest and a little before the lineup / ticket sales begin.

I wouldn't say very. Yeah, usually they're pretty quiet but usually they're dropping after movies and a pic like one a week or two

I could be remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure that last year they posted an after movie shortly after the fest, and then didn't post anything else until mid-October. The regular posting starts happening after tickets are on sale (probably to encourage sales)

Never an angry “little guy” and thank you for showing your demeanor. Never stated anything about “you” as an individual from my post. I just stated to calm down because this post comes up EVERY YEAR around the same time.

I could be condescending and call out you not using the search feature but no.

Like with every it’s the same post. When a simple search can be held. Also if you look at their socials you can follow the pattern as well. If by December there is no word then clearly something is up and I’m sure by then HQ or someone from the org will state something.

I'm never going again. I don't know how I'll take walking past a memorial of that baby in an altered state of mind. Or hearing people talk about it or call the baby "Baby Forest". This was such a horrific thing to have happened and I can't get past it. I hope people who go enjoy it, but the magic of is gone for me.

Lineup never drops with the tickets and the tickets drop in mid/late december.
