This is the second month in this new format, incorporating both NACS and CCS, as long as the station is open to essentially all modern EVs with an appropriate adapter.

For your convenience when traveling without an adapter, I also note whether each station offers CCS, NACS or both.

I'm also reporting the network provider for the first time.

Here are all of the new US and Canadian CCS and NACS (Level 3 fast-charging) universal stations that rolled out in September 2026, according to the US Department of Energy and the fine community at supercharge.info. You can get the data yourself here and here.

These chargers are suitable for most EVs on the market. If a charger is marked only as "NACS" and you only have a CCS port, or vice versa, then you need an adapter. Adapters are cheap and readily available for modern EVs.

Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the data sources.

There were 240 universal charging stations with a total of 1,601 chargepoints added or refreshed in September 2026. This is an increase from 193 and 1,214 in August.

59 new and updated stations are Tesla superchargers, with 698 chargepoints. 181 new and updated stations are non-Tesla fast chargers, with 903 chargepoints.

NOTE: some Tesla superchargers listed here have short cords, which means you may have to take up two spots or park creatively in a non-Tesla vehicle. This can be true even if your car has a NACS port.

Exceptions: cars that can't use these (mostly for old EVs)

• The pre-2026 Nissan Leaf, and other CHAdeMO vehicles (almost all discontinued), cannot use these chargers. At least not without a more expensive adapter. See my separate post in r/leaf.
• A handful of discontinued CCS EVs (Ford Focus EV, Vinfast EV) are not able to use the NACS-only Tesla stations that normally welcome other EVs with an adapter. They should be able to use the non-Tesla stations marked as CCS.
• Teslas manufactured before late 2021 may need a retrofit from Tesla in order to use a non-Tesla fast charger, no matter what plug it offers. They should be able to use the Tesla stations mentioned in this report.

Historically I’ve had many fast fun cars (WRX, GTI, G35) as a younger adult as I love engine noise, handling, etc. When I started a family I moved into trucks for my vehicle, but do not use them for work, just:

Runs to the dump with bags of grass, leaves, etc.
Off chance picking up furniture, replacing appliances, etc.
Stuff for my kid’s school
Large donations to goodwill (family will do this, lol)

I drive about 15k miles a year, currently get 16 MPG, and can have a charger installed in our home easily and will charge 99% at home I believe. It does get cold here for ~4 months a year and snow some which I understand impacts range.

Ultimately, I think we could be just fine without a truck (could get a Lightning but am trying to stay around $30k used and under both bumper to bumper and battery warranty, though I could make it work) but am curious how many people ditched their truck for an ID4, BMW i4, or similar small ish SUV or cars in a similar position? We do still have an ICE that seats 7 and would likely be our primary road trip vehicle.

Would you buy another EV? Would you buy a truck EV that’s no longer being produced?

I figured I would try to post this story here, because it's really frustrating. I was hopeful maybe it could somehow be seen enough to get some help.

I have a chargepoint home flex model mounted to the outside of my house. I bought it secondhand, but it was fully functional. I discovered today it's out of warranty (4 years old) but that's only part of the issue here. I connected it to my account, and wifi, without any real issues. The wifi didn't seem super strong or reliable, but our house is cinderblock, so I wasn't really surprised.

Anyway, I decided I would try to upgrade our network from one AP to a mesh system to make it work better in general. Our AP was old anyway, so it was needed, but part of the reasoning behind it was to get it to connect more reliably. I set up all my devices on the new network, which has a different name and password. I went outside to reconfigure wifi via the chargepoint app and.. it said it couldn't find the charger. I tried multiple times. I flipped breaker off, waited, tried again. Tried again. No luck.

I didn't expect it to be super helpful, but I contacted chargepoint support, who advised me to do... Exactly what I already was. But I did it with them on the phone anyway. Flip breaker, wait two minutes, flip it again, try to connect to no avail.

After a few tries the tech suggested that the only way forward was to remove the charger from my chargepoint account and then to try to reconfigure it that way. Not sure how that would be different, but ok. This was the critical failure point. I said "ok, sure." And the charger was removed. It still wouldn't connect to my phone. They then emailed me a generous 10% off coupon to buy.. another charger.

Frustrating, but what could you do? It's secondhand, I get it. Oh well. Right?

Well about a half hour later I had an idea which really irritated me. I spoofed the old wireless network on my phone as a hotspot and.. the charger connected to the network successfully. ONLY NOW IT IS NOT ASSOCIATED TO MY ACCOUNT. Uh oh! Trying to reconnect to the old network would have been a really good, albeit uncommon troubleshooting step.

I called chargepoint back. "I got it reconnected to the old network! You removed it from my account and you have all the details, surely you could re-associate it with my account!" No. Can I talk to a supervisor? Surely someone has that power. I know this is all database related on the backend from other horror stories about account associations with chargers.

They said yes I could talk to a supervisor, and then never contacted me again via email or phone. Now I have a dumb charger.

The cable is nice, but I wouldn't recommend buying from chargepoint. I found out today that this is a really common, often dreaded failure and that chargepoint has no plans in place to remedy it. I definitely wouldn't buy secondhand at least.

Writing this bc it seems like everyone watched a YouTube shorts on this vehicle and formed their opinion on it from a 10 second clip.

The engineer has already explained to journalists outside of the marketing event that the vehicle is essentially either 2 or 3 specs. Road, track, and space x spec.

All 2/3 specs are rear wheel drive, dual motor, and have the fan package and apparently rear thrusters, but anyone who knows about fan cars of the past (Gordon Murray’s f1 bt46, and the more recent McMurtry Speirling, for example) knows that you must have skirts lowered to ground level to create a ground effect/Venturi effect and thus the vacuum required for the downforce required to climb a wall or corner at the immense g forces they are aiming for.

The car has sacrificial rubber+nylon skirts for this purpose, and won’t be reasonably usable on the road, only prepared track use. If you ran these on the road and hit a bump or pothole, you would rapidly loose vacuum and spin out probably killing yourself. Plus if you run the skirts on the road you’ll tear them up, and need to replace them rapidly… not to mention fan cars fling dust and debris out the back, which would make this feature illegal on the road.

The road car spec will simply be an exceptionally fast (1.6 0-60) rear wheel drive roadster during normal use, but will come with the fans and deployable skirts so you can track it.

The thrusters, flight, and .55/sub 1 sec 0-60 time are entirely different spec (space x package) which replaces the passenger seat with a 400L 10,000 PSI nitrogen tank that takes 7 hours to fill, adds an additional 6 thrusters, and will literally only be a party trick for billionaires to show their friends at a closed private airstrip bc the FAA will classify it as an aircraft.

The road car spec is honestly pretty sick. The track spec is super high maintenance, but also sick, and the space x spec is essentially going to be an exceptionally high priced two-trick pony and probably the least practical car ever made, but is a fucking amazing engineering marvel.

Hope that clears up all the “no way it’s road legal” rhetoric… the space x spec is not going to be. And the base/track spec only kinda is

1600 kg x 9.8 x 5 m (to jump over the Semi) = 78.4 kJ of energy required to lift the Roadster straight in the air, assuming perfect efficiency.

The more sophisticated math estimates stored energy at 97,000 kJ.

So the specced tank size and pressure work out but the amount of stored energy and danger is insane (20 kg TNT equivalent).

Not trying to dunk on Americans, but I remember 10 years ago when all the articles were like the west will go electric and reduce emissions but china and india won't how the turn tables... There were movies made about how India is holding back climate change progress in the world...

also india really needs to increase EV share fast the pollution here is horrendous, it won't fix all the pollution issue but every bit helps right now.

I’ve had this thought for a while now: VW’s legal obligation to fund EA ends at the end of this year. While that doesn’t mean Electrify America is going to stop existing, VW seems pretty committed to EA, as they have been spending and doing more than legally required with the network. But since their obligation to fund Electrify America as an independent charging network is soon ending, I think this brings up an interesting proposition: merging Electrify America and IONNA.

Personally, I think there’s a real proposition made for this. In Europe, VW is already a part of a coalition of automakers behind a charging network, IONITY, which IONNA is largely modeled after. Basically every automaker in IONITY is a part of IONNA, besides VW, which never joined IONNA because they were legally bound to deal with their own charging network (and Ford, which I don’t really know why they’re a part of IONITY but absent from IONNA). But like I said, now that VW is soon to be free of the legal obligation to run EA as a separate entity, it has a real chance to join North America’s IONITY, IONNA gets a bunch of charging land, stations, permits, complete electrical work, etc. and VW doesn’t have to manage a charging network on their own.

There of course will be the challenge of merging management and the fact that they do use different charging units for the most part, but I do still think that could very well be viable.

I do feel it makes sense, but I could be missing some things, just throwing thoughts around. What do you guys think about this theoretical?

This video will probably require automatic texting/dubbing for most in this forum, but I really liked seeing this and want to share it. The factory has capacity to receive, store and recycle up to 25000 batteries per year (new car registrations in the country vary from 130-180k per year). The discharging process is quite awesome with all the power going to a local battery that can feed the factory or the grid. After that, batteries and other materials get ground up for recycling.

I've got a 2017 electric ford focus. Love that thing. I put +130,000 miles on it. Recently my range tanked from +100m to ~50m. I did some troubleshooting (big fan of forscan) and it looks like battery cell #25 is degraded (usually it's this one or #24 that degrade due to the cooling configuration).
I'm looking at getting a full battery replacement (both upper and lower packs) through greentec.
Here's my problem: their warranty on the batteries is only 3 years.
Not to get into personal details, but for me the math is a toss up at 3 years as to whether it's worth it or not. If the new battery lasts 5 years or more, then it's a no brainer.

Has anyone on here had a greentec battery replacement on their EV? Do they typically last longer than their 3 year warranty?

For the record, there may have been other test drive and experience centers in Chicago prior to this, for other manufacturers.
