Discussion what are some good modern emo bands in philly

i’m moving there from the west coast, i dont know anyone there but i love emo and would love to go see some cool bands at cool venues when i do arrive

They formed at Rowan in NJ but are based out of Philly now.

Static Brian, haunt dog, pennydog, attack dog, elephant Jake, gre/ay, humilitarian, alltheflowers (adjacent), precious little flowers, remember sports, and commitment (hardcore band)

Check out r5 and 4333 they host killer small/mid sized alternative shows in a lot of the best venues in Philly. Follow the bands I reccomended on IG and check out the other bands they play shows with and the promoters putting on the show to find where all the cool local shows are.

I can’t answer your question but some general advice as a Philly native, don’t trust people to respect bike lanes, or stop signs, or parking laws. Never let your self get stuck in only one section of the city, explore around the city but do so very cautiously, do research and get opinions from locals especially on cheesesteak and hoagie places, but also know when to mind your business. Also get yourself some Philadelphia Water Ice, people who don’t know about water ice haven’t lived.

haunt dog, precious little life, mystery dungeons (obligatory self-plug lmao), sodaseas… lots of killer bands in the city rn. minimart/the kennel/dead birds are great house venues to keep your eyes on, as well as philly style pizza/nikki lopez for larger shows
