0% empathy for buying ai slop and then being disappointed. you got what you paid for, and you got what you deserve.

It took me two seconds to see the obvious AI slop and know what the next picture would be like.

i don't understand the point of this costume - it neither looks like the skeleton is part of the dog nor is it eating the dog- why would the tail go past the tail of the dog

that being said- i feel like this 7/10 meets expectations- ribs and spine end early - would like to see a ruler compared to promised dimensions

I have bridges to sell you.

i think you misunderstand me- the picture looks like a crappy costume- and the actual item is a slightly worse crappy costume-

This is such a mean take. I get it but it’s just so unnecessary to be that bitter at a regular ol person on the internet.

Redditors live in an echo chamber and forget that 90% of people don’t spare more than 2 seconds of thought about ai, and even the people who do recognize it generally don’t give a fuck.

Most people are too wrapped up in their own problems to care about the consequences of ai, which is exactly what the wealthy elite want of course.

This isnt new to AI. Years ago this was bad photoshop and youre still getting scammed.

Shady business gonna misrepresent the product.

Not giving a fuck doesnt excuse ignorance.

AI is one of the biggest threats facing our generation, on multiple fronts. People need to care a whole lot more.

If they choose to remain ignorant because they like bitching about their wife to Claude while on company time, i am not gonna cry for them when it backfires and they get fired for misuse of company tools, even though they "didn't know the company could access chat logs" or whatever excuse.

Very oddly specific lmao but I’m not disagreeing, just telling it like it is.

Lol

Just the first plausible scenario that popped into my head

Inject this attitude straight into my veins.

Literally all social media is designed to be an echo chamber. Hell, even a group of friends is an echo chamber. This term gets thrown around like it's specifically a Reddit thing.

People do seem to be kind of rude on here, though, I will say.

It’s just amplified on reddit because reddit is designed as a forum, so there’s more “discussion” going on than like a typical instagram post or whatever. You’re not wrong on either point though lol

I think the perceived rudeness is old Reddit bumping into new Reddit.

In the Before Times, this was a "forum" where everyone (very) anonymously displayed their true selves. We used to joke around with eachother and share our deepest secrets and help eachother get through life. If I told you that you're a big loser, we can still be friends because we're basically siblings.

Then the Tumblr Exodus happened, and they all came here, and it was very obvious for a while who was a Redditor and who was a Tumblrite. The Redditor could no longer be themselves because every offhand remark was taken as a personal attack by Tumblrites. And then people came from Twitter and Instagram and Facebook, and they started treating Reddit like a de-anonymized social media platform. And now, the users who remember what Reddit was and want it to continue to be like that are a vanishing minority.

So now there's this ancient cultural holdover of calling one another morons here, and it clashes with the more impersonal face-saving live-your-brand mentality that permeates our culture. So now calling you a space cadet is a personal attack, and Reddit is where people attack eachother.

I've upped my empathy to 4% for you

Not everyone can tell when something is AI. Yes you think it’s clear as day but a lot of people don’t, and that is not a good reason to be shitty to them.

How terminally online do you need to be to feel so comfortable speaking to people like this? Do you go outside enough to say things like that in person?

I talk like this to people I know in real life who use AI

You must be fun at parties

Did a bot buy this account? Who still says this at all, and it doesn't even make sense in this context. I refuse to believe anyone is still using "you must be fun at parties" in 2026 as a genuine attempt to communicate.

We’re taking it back

Nice victim-blaming. Apparently no responsibility lies with the vendor...and no they didn't "get what they paid for".

u/socialblunderer 4d ago

Victim-blaming seems like a strong phrase when we’re talking about a dog’s Halloween costume.

-3

u/a3dprinterfan 4d ago

Victim blaming is where you blame someone for something someone else did to them. The vendor in this case is absolved of all responsibility, and the victim is being shamed for buying a thing that is reasonable to expect is able to be made. What's the issue here with the language?
