Exceeded Expectation I made ramen and tried to recreate the packaging picture!
Well done

I am just gonna say it: Please rotate the plate 87º to the left and take the picture again.

The egg itself could be rotated slightly to make it almost an exact match, but to be fair there aren't any peas.

This was driving me crazy as well! All that trouble and doesn’t match the position of the toppings. I’d also really appreciate a fork lifting the noodles but I’m neurotic. 😐

Seriously wtf, after all that work and you just throw the bowl on the table like that?

White indomie mi goreng is goated
I recently discovered they make chips flavored after it and it's an exact match. My only problem is they don't sell them in bigger bags. I'd eat an entire family sized bag of those in one sitting if they did

I was in Indonesia and Malaysia this summer and I tried those chips! I also had Mie Goreng from a little beach shack. They served it to me on the beach inside the package with an egg. It was pretty magical eating that and watching the sunset.

In Australia - it was better than all the other instant noodles and cost half as much. They used to put indomie or something incredibly similar even in Australian military ration packs.

In the US, "ramen" is kind of a catch-all term for any kind of instant noodles. Probably because the first instant noodle there is Top Ramen.

You should offer your services to local restaurants. They either have terrible photos or have started using AI slop.

Op said he didn't actually make this but took it from another sub. He deleted the comment but I replied to it lol.

I didn't see your comment, but reconsidered mine and thought it was a bit much..

This is my favorite ramen! I have the huge 60 pack from Amazon because it’s not in stores here plus it’s so cheap. I always top mine with some crushed peanuts and sometimes add a little peanut butter.

Ok gotta try it that way! I’ve never tried it, but if it goes well with peanut butter I’m in!

That's such a good idea. I've also found that mixing the seasoning, sauces, and oil and heating them over med or med-high heat until it just barely starts to bubble really intensifies the flavor.

My favorite as well! Sometimes Walmart is cheaper than Amazon.
Now I'm going to have to try with peanuts and/or peanut butter.

No Walmarts near me carry them. 60 for $38 isn’t bad.

I buy them online, I should have originally said that. You can't beat the price, especially as delicious as they are.

Missing the peas.

Yeah, how is he supposed to taste the pea-ness now?

why do people think "instant noodle = ramen" when ramen is its own category of noodle which this is not.
5
u/SpecialIdeal 2d ago
Because the all say ramen on the package?
3
u/ActuallyTiberSeptim 2d ago
Here in Australia we call them "instant noodles". I've noticed that Americans seem to call them "ramen", not sure if others do as well.
2
u/Cruxis87 2d ago
can you point out on the packaging where it says ramen
1
u/SpecialIdeal 2d ago
See my other comment where I said people use the word ramen as shorthand for instant noodles.
1
u/mrk240 2d ago
Is this an American thing calling all noodle based dishes Ramen?
2
u/SpecialIdeal 2d ago
In the states the most common instant noodles are marketed as ramen. Top Ramen, Maruchan Ramen. At least where I live. We just use the word ramen as shorthand for instant noodles
1
u/PsychologicalTank174 2d ago
Probably because ramen is the most popular and we don't know enough about the other types generally. In my mind it's like calling all soda Coke in the South.

There are 2 shrimp in their dish like the packaging picture, I am seeing a lot of disagreements. They're stacked on each other so it's hard to see but there are two tails.

the funny part to me is, one piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato and one shrimp...like who would make just one of those 'hmm i dunno i think i can only eat one shrimp with this' - said No one

Nice! There used to be a whole blog in my country called Tarjoiluehdotus ("Serving suggestion") with attempts to create accurate recreations of the serving suggestions on various products.
Here it is! Last entry from 2013, for those few among you who don't speak Finnish, Google Translate will probably do a decent job at least.
edit: errors and stuff
