I'm thinking of trying spandex, but I'll need to order online, so I can't try on different outfits. The ones I'm considering are listed as:

-92% nylon and 8% spandex

-82% nylon and 18% spandex

-80% nylon and 20% spandex

When it comes to physical sensation, and ease of putting on, will there be a noticeable difference between these three? Or should I just pick whichever one I think looks the best?

I'm currently trying to have a replication done of Conan Gray's sailor outfit, and have been searching all over for information of what the costume is made of, but have had zero luck. All I have is closeup images of the shirt and armband, though I dont think the blue fabric is the same as the pants. Does anyone have an idea of what the fabrics could be?

my thinking was that the most sustainable thing is usually just buying stuff you won’t have to replace in a year. so wovyyn (chrome extension) reads the fabric + price on a product page and says buy, wait for a sale, or pass, plus a sustainability score for the materials. if something’s mostly polyester or acrylic it can suggest options in better fibers

the part i’m least sure about: right now it treats recycled polyester as better than virgin poly but still way below natural fibers. does that seem right to you all? and how would you score something like 80% cotton / 20% recycled poly?

Hey all, I did quite a bit of looking online but get so many answers.

I have a black 100% organic cotton pre-shrunk tee with screen printed text on it. Its soOooOoooo scratchy. I washed it first in cold water and hung it dry, since thats what it said to do but I think that made it worse. The shirt is -just- the right size so it doesnt have room if I accidently shrink it.

Ive seen suggestions for vinegar, salt, hot water, cold water.

I just want to wear my shirt without feeling like my skin is coming off.

i bought this bc its 100% cotton but i tried to make projects with it and failed (mainly bc im a beginner) i thought of looking up patterns to make stuff with this but the type of fabric plays a big role and i don't know what this is, i only know it's composition.

My bamboo sheets were very soft at first, but they started feeling stiffer after several washes. The set is from bedsure, and I may be using the wrong detergent or drying temperature. Is there a reliable way to restore the softer feel?

A fabric can have exactly the drape, texture and colour you want, but then the care instructions make it impractical for the garment.

I recently took on a small refit for a client’s rental properties and figured the curtains would be the simple part. Measure, order in bulk, hang them up, done. The supplier photos looked promising, solid folds, clean hems, good neutral colors. What arrived was thinner fabric than expected, uneven stitching, and shades that didn’t match the samples I’d approved on screen.

I had to replace part of the order and take the schedule hit myself. Approaching it more carefully this round. Looking for wholesale curtains and drapes that hold their form, give reasonable light blocking, and still look decent once installed. Local options fall short on the quantity required, so I’m checking home-textile wholesalers and larger sourcing platforms for bulk pricing.

Anyone who’s ordered curtains or drapes wholesale before where did you buy, and what kept you from ending up with thin fabric? Any checks you use for weight, lining, or finish before locking in a full order?

Does anyone know where i can buy 100% raw unbleached undyed cotton fabric that's GOTS certified and made and sourced from the US that is stretchy like jersey knit, I've been looking and the best i can find is on Natures fabrics .com i hope this is the right place to post thank u for ur help!

I’m a textile artisan who sews dolls and plushies where do you fellow doll/plush makers get your fabrics from and materials from, I get all of my stuff from Walmart not a huge selection but it’s works just enough for me but it could be way better

I accidentally cut my fabric too small for a project I'm working on (a quilted historical overskirt) and I'm trying to track down any size pieces I can get my hands on.

I'd be more than happy to purchase it, but I can't find it with an image search online or on EBay.

It's a lilac purple background with darker purple roses and periwinkle blue small flowers with small green vines on it, and the selvage says it's "Faye Liverman Burgos for Marcus Brothers Inc”

Does anyone have any of this fabric? Or know someone who might/does?

I've been thinking about getting new throws after my relatively new fur throws have degraded due to humidity. And I'm wondering what material I should be looking at. It can't be cotton or faux fur. And I was thinking of possibly linen, but considering that winter's coming, I think it's probably best to go for merino wool and plastic.

And now I'm thinking about if I should get a full merino or a merino blend? I've been looking at blankets online and I've seen 100% merino options and also 80% merino blends and 60% merino blends and so on. Which is best? I want a blanket that's premium feeling, comfortable, and durable, with little to no shedding.

I have a bunch of vintage and newer fabric that I’m looking to sell/get rid of. I already have some on marketplace, but wanted to know where else I could sell it?

I shop H&M online constantly, and they usually name the exact weave (Poplin, Oxford, Dobby, Seersucker). But for two white shirts I saw in a reel (Art. Nos. [1304741001](tel:1304741001) & [1297891001](tel:1297891001)), they lazily labeled them as generic "Cotton Weave". 
I hate rough Oxford fabric and stick strictly to smooth, crisp Poplin. I know these aren't Oxfords, but what is H&M's default "cotton weave" usually—standard Poplin or Fine Twill?
Does anyone who owns these know for sure?

It's like fleece but the fuzz is longer. I like how it feels. Picture in comments since I can't seem to add to post.
