Hey everyone,
I've been on YouTube since around 2013, but I took a pretty long break from making content. Recently I've decided to give it another shot, and this time I'm getting into lo-fi and ambient music.
I'm still pretty new to AI video tools, so I'm figuring things out as I go. One thing I've noticed, though, is just how many lo-fi channels are out there now. It seems like everyone's jumping into this niche, probably because it looks like a good way to make money. And honestly, that's part of it for me too. I enjoy creating things, but I'd also like to make something out of all the time I'm putting into this.
What I don't want to do is just make another video with a blue night sky, a neon city and an anime girl sitting by a window. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but I'd like to try something different. I'm interested in creating a world that actually feels alive, with a character and an atmosphere people can connect with.
I've also noticed how heated the whole AI debate has become. Some people seem to hate anything made with AI, while others use it for pretty much everything. I can understand concerns about copyright and the amount of low-effort content being uploaded. But I don't really understand the idea that using AI automatically makes something worthless.
People had concerns about Photoshop when digital editing became a big thing, too. And way back when the printing press came along, it changed the whole business of making books. Obviously, these aren't exactly the same situations, but new tools have always changed the way people create things.
I'm not saying AI is going to replace artists, and I'm definitely not claiming that everything made with AI is good. I'm just trying to learn these tools and see what I can do with them.
So I'm curious about what people here think. Is lo-fi getting too crowded, or is there still room for someone to bring a fresh idea to the table? And when you come across a new music channel, what makes you stick around instead of moving on to one of the thousands of others?
Here's my channel if anyone wants to have a look. I'm still learning, so honest feedback is welcome.
