I tried to will it into existence on Monday. I was having a terrible day and texted my partner "I think the only things that could fix me today were 1) FOB announcing a new album, or 2) Trailer drop for season 2 of The Institute".
I got neither. Day continued to be terrible, lol.

I’m hoping Pete suddenly being active on Instagram again is a sign but who knows 😮💨

Since Joe has apparently been working on not-FoB music, it looks unlikely.
Unless they've shut him out again.

Huh explain they shut him out poor Joe

Slightly confused what you're trying to say, but I'm talking about Folie (which honestly sounds like a mess all around) and Mania (where him saying that he didn't like the direction was ignored and he ended up reworking everything he wrote for The Damned Things).

Oh i didn’t know this where did you find this out

He also talks about the Folie thing a bit in his book (generally if you hear random Joe lore, it's probably from his book). It sounds like everyone was having issues (except maybe Andy) and part of his was that he felt like he had no identity outside the band, but also like he didn't have any identity within the band anymore, combined with a drug problem, what later turned out to be untreated bipolar disorder and being that famous is really stressful.

He talks about this in his book. He and Andy had almost no creative input on Mania, and he hated the whole experience. It sounds like they fixed this on SMFSD so I’m hoping it doesn’t change.

This is really interesting i really love so much for stardust like when you like a song you don’t exactly know who added the aspects you like about it. I missed Joe and i didn’t even know.

Ahh, seems you didn't live through the Great Hiatus of 2009. Lol no seriously I didn't think they'd ever come back so this doesn't feel so bad. I just want the next album to be good

I was thinking the same thing. The hiatus felt like....Centuries.

u/My_favoriteaccident Sep 11 '26
Yes, but did you remember them for Centuries? Sorry for the corny joke lol

u/Consistent_Gur9523 I could be an accident, but I'm still trying Sep 12 '26
PTSD flashback...
the day they announced they were putting out new music again actually motivated me to take the chance and leave a terrible situation.
please, God, no more hiatus.

It wouldn't be crazy expecting a first single on mid - late 2027
I'm hoping for a more orchestral album, more cabaret
