You're probably just not in the right circles lol - for example a massive amount of following of Many a True Nerd (youtuber who got popular from playing Fallout New Vegas on a single health bar/no healing permadeath) are known to be transgender despite him having no connection to the trans community

It not only has character customization, but it lets you express a personality / mannerism through the dialogue in a way not many other games do.
Which makes playing New Vegas an ideal way to experiment with different identities in a safe, controlled environment. I think a lot of folks tried roleplaying a character in New Vegas and ended up going, hang on, this feels more true to me than how I am IRL.

It's not just a trans thing. People do it about their nationality. Their religion. Hell, there's currently a big argument over in this thread because a bunch of people are suggesting a ballerina-coded character is autistic because toe-walking is associated with autism.
Humans are naturally tribal and pattern-recognizing. If you aren't actively trying to keep yourself from being like "oh, thing! I recognize thing!" you're going to do it.

From my exipierence Vegas is the easiest fallout game to understand where in my opinion more seasoned players would rather play 3 and mostly 4 because its larger and has more to do and its more customizable dont know what ut jad to do with the Trans but Vegas is fallout for beginner I started on Vegas but with the graphics I can't go backwards now.
