Questions & Discussion reading old comics and then switching to recent ones makes me depressed because back then men were all beautifully beefy and hairy and now they're all so smooth and thin. Look at Reed in 70s

I don't even see a problem with that... there are current cases where men are handsome and don't even need to be very muscular to be so
Look at the New Ultimate Peter, I call him Dilf Parker
PS: that Reed in the image is also smooth; after all, hairless men have existed forever, look at Arnold Schwarzenegger for example

This is from either FF 182 or 183. Reed’s doppelgänger from Counter Earth, the Brute, threw the real Reed into the Negative Zone and was trying to take his place with the FF and Sue. Here Annihilus is trying to enlist the real Reed’s help in regaining his cosmic control rod, which was stolen by the Mad Thinker’s android. In exchange, Annihilus would help Reed get back to earth. Complex and convoluted plot, but I loved it as a kid!

There was something so special about comics back then. They were could be goofy, serious, humorous and action packed all at the same time.

I actually prefer him to be long and slender, as it makes for a better visual representation of his character if he is shaped more like reed.
Hey, wait...

This is Kirby. He could draw slender and puny if he really had to but he had to be made to. Ditko could draw skinny without trying so hard.

It goes back and forth. During Hickman’s run, Reed and Johnny looked like they spent their free time at an underground gym populated by juiced-up muscle-heads.
