Discussion Three ways, one project

Three film projects from the outside, which would you support?

The first has a great script by an unknown screenwriter, very little marketing camp.

The second has an average script but a established screenwriter, good marketing behind it.

The third also has an med script and an unknown screenwriter, but a huge marketing push with a strong strategy.

If you are a producer, which one you support first?

I’d be curious to know how the third project with a mid script from an unknown screenwriter got such a huge marketing push / great strategy without a producer.

Think that the marketing is coming from the writer. Les play this mental game

Why is the producer not involved in the marketing strategy?

Cause the writer create the marketing with a personal team

Why is the writer, of all people, responsible for marketing?

Great script. Can't make a good movie from an ok screenplay.

Great script, always. As a producer I’ll figure out how to tackle the marketing problem

Probably the second. Third might do the best commercially, but second would be the best film.

As a Producer I would support the third, but I'm a DOP and I want to make good films so I would go for the seocond.

Wouldn’t the great script make a better film than an average script?
