Question How does flash breathe?

I’m in the 10th episode of first season of flash (so please no spoilers for the tv show) and since this version of Flash has super metabolism (having to eat alot, can’t get drunk, etc.) should’t he have to breathe an insane amount of air? Like wouldn’t he breathe out all the air from a normal room within moments? Is there an explanation or is it just an unimportant incosistency?

One of what will be many unimportant consistencies. I mean, if you think too much about super speed, there's no reason for him to be in any danger ever. So....

I wonder if anyone has counted the number of times bad guys run away and then can’t be found.

Madvocate counted them.

These are the questions we don’t ask… to understand the show you have to believe in the impossible.

  1. He's not always in bullet time, only his perception is
  2. Speedforce magic 🤷🏻‍♂️

If sound travels at 760mph and Flash travels at 670 million mph how does sound leave his mouth?

Welcome to the show. Questions like that will be common and unanswered. You'll have to just get used to them not explaining.

All speedsters have super metabolism. It's one of the constant changes that come from gaining the Speed Force

It's just unimportant, we can just assume he's already breathing in as much air as he needs to perform his actions, metabolism and eating is an active decision you have to make while breathing is just physiological and just apart of our biology, sure his body would've just adapted normally to it. Yes eating is apart of us naturally too but it's usually something someone actively does, I've never felt like I was forcing myself to breath ya know? I just do it without issue.

It's not an inconsistency. His heart rate, breathing etc is all normal when he's not running. He burns more when he runs.

Right but for our body to metabolize calories we use oxygen.

Yes, but he only seems to burn more calories and need more when he's running. This person is in season 1 so I won't spoil anything specific but there are later plots where Barry should have been impacted by his limited supply of food and he wasn't probably because this was also a period where he wasn't running .

I wouldn't try to analyze every little thing if I were you, I remember I made that mistake once but never again. I stopped doing that around S3. no spoilers but just know that the main enemy of that season makes no sense at all. I stopped caring around that point but when I got to S4 and found out how ridiculous this season is as well, I just stopped taking this show seriously (it doesn't even take itself seriously) and started looking at it as a comedy or a drama, and trust me, the show becomes much more enjoyable when you do this. I'm speaking from experience, since I just started S8 recently.
