Serious Should I drop
I'm pledging currently and initiation is coming up. Why I would drop is because to be honest I'm just not close with my PC, I don't really go out with them unless I have to, and to be honest a lot of them just aren't people I really want to hangout with. So it seems like why would I pay the money for something I don't even truly like. What's holding me back is how close I am to initiation, and also Its not like I haven't had my fair share of fun with this fraternity and a lot of the people I do really like and I feel like a lot of them like me as well. I've also pledged all this time and it feels like a waste. Should I drop?

I didn’t vibe with my pledge class very much either but the guys who came a few classes before me and who came in after me were cool. The monetary value question you should be asking yourself is - is this (meaning Greek life) something you are interested in investing your time and money in over the next however many years you have in your degree? Like, are the ideals of your organization compelling enough that you want to be associated with the group, be on committees, and help plan events and things, even if you’re not well connected with some of your brothers? If you believe in what the org is doing you should stick with it. There’s no predicting what could happen in a semester or a year but you could try to deepen your connection with older brothers and be active in recruitment so you get to know the next pledges and have friends from that class. Also, part of life after college is learning how to navigate the awkwardness of being in close proximity to people you don’t really fw, because I promise you won’t like all your coworkers in your office or workplace, so this is a social skill learning opportunity

You don’t have to like your pledge class. Hang out with other members you better vibe with

I didn’t really like most of my pledge class UNTIL initiation. Once I saw that the dudes I had doubted were tough as shit and willing to do what it took, I respected the shit out of them
