:Flipkart’s Absolute Joke of a Delivery Service
I genuinely don't understand how Flipkart thinks this is acceptable customer service.
I ordered a Motorola Motobook 60 Pro worth ₹73,743 on October 8. I paid upfront, and Flipkart promised delivery by October 10. What followed was an absolute circus.
Here's the experience:
October 10: My laptop was marked Out for Delivery, with delivery promised by 11 PM.
At around 10:30 PM, I called the delivery executive. He casually told me he wasn't going to deliver it that night and would come the next day.
Within FIVE MINUTES, I received a WhatsApp message claiming that I had requested the rescheduling. Excuse me? I was the one calling to ask where my laptop was!
Over the next few days, the delivery date kept getting pushed. Customer care was absolutely useless. I asked for the delivery hub details because I urgently needed the laptop for work. They wouldn't provide the hub manager's contact details, and the delivery executive wouldn't answer his calls.
Then Flipkart proudly displayed “PRIORITISED — WILL BE DELIVERED WITHIN 48 HOURS.” The delivery date was pushed to October 15 anyway.
And what was the final solution? I had to travel to the delivery hub myself and collect the laptop on October 14, despite customer care discouraging me from doing so.
The cherry on top? At the hub, I photographed what appeared to be their internal shipment-tracking console. It showed “NON PRIORITY”, while the Flipkart app was telling me my order had been prioritised.
So which one is it, Flipkart? Is my order prioritised, or are you just displaying reassuring messages to keep customers quiet?
I paid ₹73,743 upfront. I followed the process. I contacted support. I waited through multiple delivery commitments. I even had to spend my own time travelling to the hub to do what your delivery service was supposed to do.
And when I asked for compensation? Flat refusal.
This isn't about expecting the world to revolve around me. It's about paying a substantial amount for a product, being given delivery commitments that aren't met, and potentially having the delay incorrectly recorded as something I requested.
I've already filed a grievance with the National Consumer Helpline. I'm considering taking the matter further.
Questions for the community:
Has anyone successfully obtained compensation from Flipkart for this kind of delivery fiasco?
Is slapping a ₹10,000 compensation reasonable in these circumstances?
Should I proceed through e-Jagriti if Flipkart continues refusing to address the complaint?
Has anyone else experienced a delivery being marked as customer-requested when they never requested it?
Flipkart, if you're reading this: delivering a prepaid laptop shouldn't require this much chasing, repeated calls, a consumer grievance, and a personal trip to your delivery hub.
Stop calling orders “prioritised” if your own shipment records suggest otherwise. Customers deserve honest updates, accountability, and a delivery service that actually delivers.
