You select decline and you still get ads, only "less relevant ones"...

What's next? The console having a subscription to actually function?

Yes. They absolutely want to force ads/propaganda/etc on you at all times.

These corporations only see us as bags of money to be drained. We are not humans to them, we are loot pinatas. They believe they just need to find the right stick and we will give them ALL our money.

First you’ll get a premium subscription to reduce the ads, then a per-game fee so developers can toggle them off, followed by an optional ‘I’m a massive fan’ payment tier. Or you can choose the budget option: pay extra to receive more ads, because who doesn’t want their console experience sponsored by 47 different products? What’s next—a subscription to use the controller?

It’s specifically on media apps like amazon prime where you are going to get ads either way. It’s not up to Sony whether or not Amazon prime implements ads.

But if I select either accept or decline, then I'm getting the relevant ads as per my selection. So I must get less ads overall with the decline option 😁

People really still use a console to stream tv shows when smart tvs have existed for as long as they have?

Exact same policy you see with every app you download. Stop trying to start drama.

This has been out for a while, I got it before they even announced physical discs end, iirc.

It's for the media apps only, if you dont want adds then buy premium services. It's not a Sony thing, it's a movie media thing, Netflix has always had adds unless you paid extra, same with youtube (when they started putting adds anyway) this is sony just saying that these services including their own movie media app will be sharing customers info to better advertise the said customers and that if you dont want your info shared then you can turn the setting off. There's actual reasons not to like sony (coming from a ps guy of 20 years) but this isn't one of them.

Jailbreak is out now just keep your ps5 at 13.60 or lower - and give up online = no problem. Use other devices for media streaming. Enjoy life 😎

So your bitching because Sony is disclosing that other apps might show ads and you will have a unique ad if from PlayStation for those apps and this is Sonys fault how?

Y'all are seriously lacking in grey matter. This isn't a Sony thing. It's the streaming sites Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video. They all have this. This is Sony doing you a solid and giving you an out so those streaming apps don't get more targeted data from you than they already have.
