Probably bee is hungry and cold and too tired to fly back home

I was really really worried if she would be hurt or something! After watching closely she seems pretty ok! (For me at least)

Just give them a bit of sugar when that happens.

Next best thing is to put her on a flower.

She's tired and likes the light from your phone. Follow others advice on keeping her healthy. But before sugar water if you have a good flower patch or trees that are still pollinating put her there first. Bee's go docile and don't move much in the dark without sunlight. 😀 best wishes

That's a tired bee before the night. Good thing to offer it is a drop of sweet water placed in front. Sugar gives them energy enough to get back.

She is so tiny and cute, but the pain from their Sting is real. I think she's curious about you too and trying to figure you out😂😂

"Why the f*** is this human touching me bruh!? "

When they’re like this they’re either too cold or too dehydrated. If you dissolve some sugar in water and let them drink off the spoon they will revive quickly and fly home. Needs to be daylight for them to navigate though

This is why you always need to keep at least a little bit of sugar around. Also you need it for baking bread. Anyway, bees are cute and very interesting little critters.

You’ve given her shaken bee bee syndrome.

I had a moth do this recently. They seemed to look me in the eye like a bug puppy dog. Was very cute

People keep saying she, but I’m pretty sure that’s a drone… so she’s a he :)

7

u/Looking-for-42 19h ago

That is not a drone. They look differently and also there are no drones in autumn. They are only required for fertilizing the queen which happens once in spring. They die afterwards and the colony doesn't breed new ones until the next spring.

Also, bees can fully retract their sting so you don't necessarily see it.

Ohhh! I should investigate more about their genders! Thank you!

Males, drones, don’t have stingers, have thicker legs, and wider eyes that almost meet at the top of their head.

u/DamienBerry 23h ago

TIL, I never knew this about bees, I just assumed all bees had the ability to sting.
And interestingly the reason why the males don’t have a stinger is because a bee's stinger is a modified ovipositor (a female egg laying organ).

I literally had a dream about a swarm of friendly bees last night lmao Bees are actually pretty chill most of the time

She was cold and hungry. One time in autumn a bee took me for a hotel. I was 8 month pregnant at the time so she wiggle inside my clothes to take a nap on my huge and hot belly 🤷‍♀️. I tough it was a crumb of food so I took it with my hand under my clothes. I kinda scream a little when I saw her in my hand.
