First timer with a foam head instead of a kigu base Its supposed to be a hyena its had a shave since this photo but I also got too close and got a few bald spots but that was my own fault for taking off the clipper guard to do "detail work" aka me fucking around and finding out.

WIP Patterning A Puppet - Progress!

Hello!

So i made about two attempts with the draping method. The first attempt (see third image) is super scuffed and was mainly me trying to get the hang of figuring out where to add darts and how to ladder stich. the fourth image onward (and also the first image in the set) are my most recent attempt and i gotta say i think its the smoothest version so far! hes actually starting to look like my guy and i think this is genuinely exciting.

Im testing out some follow-me eyes that i measured by hand and modeled in blender and then printed. This is the second set with some minor measurement adjustments made and the final will be in white with a black iris. They pop out pretty easy but i imagine once i sand and glue the fabric backing onto the back of the eyes and glue those into the socket i think it should stick in place.

Advice PVC Mesh Eyes with alcohol markers

Hey people, im trying around with medias as I'm a new maker. I recently discovered you can color PVC mesh with alcohol markers pretty well. As these are hard to color, if you cannot use a sublimation printer like me, I thought you might like this information. (:

Edit: thank you for your feedback!! I have used a topcoat on it, make sure if you use a spray, that you spray it from a wider distance to avoid filled holes in the mesh. I haven't had any problems with uv on them yet, but I also made different experiences with cheaper and expensive/high pigment markers here too. My higher quality markers has not been washing away with water even without the top coat on it. Also: paint the backside in black when using white mesh, so you can see better. (:

Questions Best color for realistic moth fursuit?

So I know moths come in so many different colors but I want a neutral colored one. I can't decide which color would look best for my project. I plan on ordering from howl fabrics because I like their fur. I have a picture of the fur I have currently selected and a couple of different moths as reference for what I'm going for.

Advice Resin claws for Nylon gloves

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello,

I have just acquired my resin claws and wanted to check in on whether I am using the correct adhesive before attaching them to 90% nylon gloves.

I saw it was recommended to use E6000 and not regular hot glue due to the lack of bonding for both the nylon and clear resin.

Wanted to get thoughts on this, these gloves are for my bird partial and wanted to add some extra flare to the gloves themselves. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you~

Questions How to comb and fix Fur "hair"

Thumbnail

Pictures from Red note: zrqqq_torpedo

I was looking for inspiration for future projects and I came across these masks on Red note. I am familiar with adding hair on fursuit heads by cutting the shapes of the hair with the fur and combing it, and gluing it down. That part I get, what I was wondering about was about "hair care".

Which products do you recommend to comb the hair and allow it to "stay in shape". Sharp shapes and hair flowing smoothly. Any kind of product like soap, just water, or (not very likely) hair spray?

I was wondering as to how can I achieve this nice shaping with faux fur, since the bare fur will make the shapes seem fuzzy, and although charming, it's not the result I am looking for

Questions Best Shoe for Footpaw?

I had previously posted a picture of the inside of my paws with the slide inside: https://www.reddit.com/r/FursuitMaking/s/zmBghdClk1 (this link is for context, it is a link to this same reddit of one of my previous posts!)

Since I have gotten the slide out, what type of shoe is best to add inside? Something secure with support that I can easily attach inside that I don’t have to tie up.
What type of shoe do you have in your paws?
Thanks!

Thank you so much to everyone who's given me advice or guidance here, you all are great :D

There's still a little bit of work I want to do (hands need some reinforcement/repair, would like to make a pad or something for the base of the tail so it sits more comfortably, maybe whiskers?) but I feel sooooo accomplished having actually built and worn her.

Also: not trying to brag (maybe a little bit) but I got so many compliments when I took her to a con, and even more when I told people she was my first! I was worried that she looked weird or everyone would judge me for having like, a little bit of visible stitching or glue, but the thing is you're the only one who notices that stuff, everyone else just sees an awesome suit.

hihi everyone!! ♡ I need your opinion on something! >w<

Should I try making my first fursuit by myself? I've only been in the fandom for about 2 months, but I really really want my own suit! It would be so nice to walk around in it and share photos with you all! '3

If you think I should, what advice would you give to a newbie? TwT

Thank you sooo much for reading! I'd be super grateful if you comment with advice or your opinion on this! ♡

Questions Anybody got fur from Furaddiction ?

Hello ! Im looking through all the possible fur providers because as an european, there is no way I can afford the atrocious shipping fees from US companies :(
Anyways, ended up finding a company called Furaddiction that ships from australia and seems pretty decent, but I cannot find much information related to them and fursuits. Has anyone here bought from them and could give me insight on how it went ? Is the quality alright ?

Advice Need help with designing my fursuit.

I've been trying to design the digitigrade body suit and feet paws for my partial, but I've been having trouble making a design that feels right. I would love any suggestions on how i could make it fit the style and personality of the partial, but still be easy for enough for me to figure out how to make as I haven't actually made anything but tails and half masks before. And if possible, I'd like some assistance in finding the correct fur colors as well.

Edit: I'd like to add that i didn't make the suit, I got it off the Dealer's Den, and that I don't know who made it. I've found two TikTok acounts that have owned the suit prior to me, but I don't have the app and refuse to download it, and I can't see the videos. I only remember one and I think they were Scrubbles...Maybe?? I tried reverse searching it again to find them but they weren't coming up anymore, so i don't know if the videos had been deleted or not.

the person who ordered this fursuit was super vocal & collaborative during this process!definitely a learning process, since i had to revise the eyebrow ridge after we were "set" on the foam base + fur pattern since she realized the brow was a bit too masculine for her liking after i had already sewn up the face fur. super happy with how she ended up turning out, giving her to her owner today :)

fursuits can be incredibly gender affirming for people, and i always aim to make my fursuits comfy for the wearer in all the ways!
