I read a lot of marketing books and a run a business, but I’m sure you don’t care about that.
But here’s something from Google:
“Every part of a business communicates a message and influences how customers perceive the brand, meaning marketing is embedded across all operational functions rather than isolated to a single department.”
Never and I mean NEVER attempt to run a business or you will fail 100% guaranteed.

Yeah I work in marketing and own a business sorry about that.
I am aware that marketing is all encompassing but it’s like a square and a rhombus. Marketing is running the advertising portion, but product/production channels are handling the merchandise in conjunction with marketing. Adding a fake disc would be more for merchandise sales than marketing and who would want a fake disc when the problem is no disc for the game? Too many moving parts to say fire the marketing team as a whole if you think it’s not good enough.

Well “bro”, I’ve won awards so I think I’m safe. I’m not a fanboy, I just appreciate a good large budget marketing scheme. We can completely disagree on their marketing without you insulting my capabilities as an individual. The lack of disc sparked a lot of conversation without creating a pr disaster. All press is good press after all.
Maybe a lot of individuals don’t care about the arena, but you know who does? News outlets. Not gaming news but local news stations. That’s a pretty big deal since a lot of people are watching and learning from those segments. A video game making it into the news cycle and having ooh where you’d see new tech releases and popular movies or shows is pretty great. News chopper picked up those cars and it’s circulating across multiple media channels because not everything happens on reddit. Those cars make people ask questions.
Marketing is all about finding conventional and unconventional ways to bring attention to a good or service. That’s what we’re seeing here. A lot of people are interacting with their marketing, but you’re not seeing it because they aren’t all “fanboys”.

? That is not related to marketing. That's production and them not having a Disc is on Sony. Regardless most people are paying for digital, AND most who pre-ordered got the $100 edition. It was smart financially to not spend on disc manufacturing/distribution.
That aside, what marketing-wise would be more appropriate/better than GTA cars/blimps/paintings etc? I do agree the collectors edition is shite, but I did pre-order the $100 game and got a pro a few months back, so what do I know.

It's bc T2's CEO said it'd be a "short and aggressive" run starting in the Summer. People missed that though and are just impatient.
Since the pre-orders it's been great. Seems the closer we get is the heavier their marketing becomes. This is a whole new level.

I was not particularly interested in GTA VI up until recently. I have spent a ton of hours on Vice City, GTA 3, San Andreas, IV, and V, but I am now older, have less time to play, I am more selective about games...and being also very familiar with Florida, I wasn't thrilled about seeing a bunch of "Florida men" in a game, as I usually want to play to disconnect with reality.
The recent extended trailer changed my mind. It looks so fun and engaging, the choice of music is, as often with Rockstar, on point. I don't even think they need any advertising but why not, they make it look fun!

Edit: I want to know what dislikes for? Ferrari isn't a company that loves their cars getting modified in anyway. Look up how people can never buy Ferrari cause the modifications done.
