Having played video games for over two decades, I can say I’ve never seen hype before for a game like GTA 6. It’s easily the most massive entertainment drop of the decade

Do NOT play an uninterrupted game session on launch day ⚠️

2.0k Upvotes

An uninterrupted 14 hour session of playing the game is heavily dangerous for situations like an DVT, now you may ask what is an "DVT". it is an medical term where you sit uninterrupted for hours and hours and since your primary leg muscle that pushes blood up to the heart (which is called an second heart or more accurately calf muscle.) since this isnt being used while you are playing it can cause an massive blood clot. now when you eventually do stand up for a task like pissing or taking a small break this blood gets pumped up urgently to the heart which is sent to the lungs, but this clot gets stuck in the lungs blood veins making very thin spaces for them to give you air causing air hunger. this is an fatal accident and must immediately be called 911 if this happens to you or anyone you know.

How to prevent this you may ask? keep a water bottle in your room and drink from it regularly to let blood move smoother and stand up every 1-2 hours and do cardio for example or just walk around your house. Conclusion to this is: please do not attempt doing an 14 hour or more session.

Bonnie and Clyde – Fun Facts

Post image
37 Upvotes
  1. Clyde’s first murder took place in prison: contrary to popular belief, Clyde did not commit his first killing after his release. While at Eastham Prison, he was subjected to regular sexual abuse by a fellow inmate. Clyde eventually took revenge, beating his attacker to death with an iron pipe. Another prisoner, who was serving a life sentence, took the blame for the murder, so Clyde was never charged.

  2. Police armories were their favorite targets. Many wondered how a small-time gang of robbers could possess such firepower—enough to rival that of an army. The answer is simple: Clyde and his associates didn’t buy their weapons on the black market; instead, they broke into police armories and National Guard bases. This is where they obtained their preferred Browning Automatic Rifles (BARs), as well as vast quantities of ammunition.

  3. They had a peculiar moral code: while they would shoot police officers in cold blood if lured into a trap, they treated civilian hostages—and even police officers captured along the road—with surprising humanity. They would often keep them in tow for days, providing them with food, and then, hundreds of kilometers away, give them money for a bus ticket so they could return home.

  4. They shot one of their own out of suspicion: paranoia had completely consumed the gang. When Clyde began to suspect that one of their young drivers, William Daniel Jones, might betray them, that suspicion was enough for Clyde to simply execute the boy and leave his body by the side of the road.

  5. The investigator who profited from their deaths: Frank Hamer, the legendary Texas Ranger who orchestrated the trap, became famous and wealthy overnight following the ambush. Although he received little of the official bounty, he was paid small fortunes by firearms manufacturers and newspapers for exclusive interviews, and he was legally permitted to keep much of the arsenal found in the gang’s car as trophies.

Lucia is clearly foreshadowing the story with this intentional dialogue.
I don't feel so good about what that could mean for their potential outcome.

GTA 6 Ending theory: Jason and Lucia survive (canon)

Most ending theories are pure fan fiction with exact details on this or that character and this or that mission/plot point. This is going to be vague because I can't guess the exact details. None of us can. There aren't any leaked endings or any info. That said, I think people are a bit confused. I want to bring up some old things, some very new things, and some basic logic to a LOGICAL picture of what the ending can be

I used to be a popular writer; cancer got me. I've been in and out of the hospital and trying ot liquidate my holdings. Since I am unlikely to see the game end myself, I have given it too much thought. So I am going to write, and it will be long. Read it or don't, my friends

TLDR: There are ending options, and the canon ending is both of them surviving because they share.... something (a spoiler).

Quote/ Fact 1: The Romance affects the story

IGN: There's not a sort of benefit that's big enough to make you have to play romantically?

Rob Nelson: Not a particular gameplay benefit that I can think of really. They will remain partners in crime... It's really about what you want for them, their story, and how it plays out. Whether you've nurtured the relationship or not will definitely have a bearing on how their story plays out

Clearly, the romance matters. Now Jason Schreier just went to Rockstar's HQ, and this was big. Jason Schreier and Rockstar are not great pals. Love or hate Jason Schreier, he is a very reliable source of information, and he revealed a lot.

In a video put out in the last day or so, he went into detail about what he saw. He asked Rob Nelson what the hardest thing to create in GTA 6 was. Rob showed the dates and romance system and explained how it was a difficult challenge to have 2 characters wander the world together and interact realistically. They go into more detail, but one thing is clear- this was a major priority for Rockstar.

There is also a ROMANCE METER. This is a complex system based on actions in missions, side activities, and so much more. It doesn't unlock anything (cars, weapons, clothes), so why have it? Why display it in the screen where you change characters?

Fact 2: No GTA protagonists have ever died. GTA III- Claude lives and prevails. GTA VC- Tommy lives and prevails. GTA SA- Carl lives and prevails. GTA IV- Niko lives and prevails (at a cost). GTA V- The canon ending has all 3 living and prevailing

There are 2 ways a GTA protagonist has EVER died in GTA history. In one case, the protagonist of a GTA IV DLC dies in GTA V, or in non-canon multiple endings.

Fact 3: GTA is not RDR. To be clear, RDR is a gritty game about redemption. It isn't satire at all and, in fact, is very serious in tone. Sure, there is a funny mission here and there, but it's deadpan

In RDR1, Rockstar killed John Marston in a surprise ending. People assumed that the protagonists of GTA V would die like John.... and they didn't. GTA is a satire and so on, but it is always about plucky rebels (criminals) overcoming the odds (cartels, corrupt people, cops) to prevail.

Arthur had a great ending. However, it was EARNED. Players (most) put Arthur on this arc where he seeks redemption. He views himself as a bad man, but as a necessary evil to protect his family. So when you see that payoff, it is bittersweet and amazing.

GTA is not about redemption. The story outline makes that clear. Neither needs redemption. The story summary itself says "they need to rely on each other to make it out alive." The GOAL IS SURVIVAL.

Fact 4: Songs Matter. Rob Nelson has stated that songs- in particular, 1 song- was the framework and inspiration for the game. Specifically, Tom Petty's "Love is a Long Road." Quote

Music, in fact, can play a crucial role in the creative process. According to the co-head of Rockstar North, sometimes there’s a specific image that helps them visualize the direction they want to take, but “very often it’s a song” that makes all the pieces start to fall into place. And that’s exactly what happened with GTA 6 and ‘Love Is a Long Road,’

Love is a Long Road is about how challenging it is to maintain love. It is not about betrayal. It is not a breakup song. In the end, Petty says he will give it just one more chance for her to save his soul, with the implication being this was not the first "last chance." There is GTA 6. In the wake of chaos and difficulties, love can "save their soul," but it's a hard, long road.

I won't list all of the songs, including the newest banger, Flower in a Hurricane. There is a theme here

  • Love is great- love is joy. People should seek love
  • Love helps. We see this in "Hot Together," which is a song that goes over why being together is great. It is "hot" or strong.
  • Love is hard. Reality is dark; life can be difficult, and keeping love alive through "the hurricane" life throws at you is a "long road." However, "Love never hesitates," and through it "we will see the sun rise into another day."
  • Devil Woman: Here is what is funny- most people TOTALLY MISS on this one. The song isn't about some manipulative girlfriend. It is about a guy who thinks a black cat cursed him, so he goes to see a mystic. However, the mystic actually curses him. It is a warning against manipulation and temptation. Now, maybe for Jason, Lucia is the black cat he THINKS cursed him and brought him into trouble. So when he goes to Brian (the mystic), he ACTUALLY gets cursed.

Speaking of Brian- the carousel story. To me, this is either something WAY deeper than we see or a fake-out. Rockstar will burn people down for leaking Slack messages. Do you think they will give an outline of the ending choices in a Netflix special? Also not a hidden one, a VERY obvious "everyone will understand this" story. This is a company that fires people for leaking Slack messages and takes security INSANELY seriously, and we think they spoiled their own ending in a Netflix special? Either there is a deeper meaning here that becomes clear when we have the game, OR it is a misdirection. That is speculation, but saying that Rockstar spelled out the ending (or framework) in a gameplay presentation is speculation too, and far less likely.

Speculation/spoiler: They have a kid together.

Now this was leaked like 3 years ago and has been debated. I mean a kid in GTA? However, look at what we know.

  1. Lucia calls Jason from jail, and he knows her. When he picks her up, it is NOT 2 strangers meeting. They have history
  2. Jason Schreier watched Rob Nelson play through a date between Jason and Lucia. He said that at one point they (J and L) are talking about a time when Lucia's mom got mad at Jason. THEN, something else is said. Rob stops the game and says, "You just heard the one major spoiler," and suddenly NDAs are out; the head of marketing is getting Jason to promise not to reveal what Lucia just said. What could she have said that is so important?
  3. What motivates Jason? We know romance is optional to a degree (idk to what degree) so if YOUR Jason doesn't care much about Lucia, then what keeps him engaged beyond the conspiracy? There has to be a way out that is easier than tearing up Leonida, right? Clearly, there is something BIG keeping him in this game reluctantly

Now let's use logic

  • GTA V, RDR2, and GTA IV had multiple endings. With RDR, there isn't as much player input, and the multiple endings are really one ending with differant cutscenes. Still, the point remains
  • Rob Nelson made it clear he is big on choice. In fact, with IGN, he further stated players get to make "really big and small choices throughout the game that change things." Now it could change dialogue, but GTA stories are simple point A to point B stories. The only choice comes in the ending.
  • Why have the romance system? Why have this uber-complex, deep, difficult-to-create romance system if the only outcome is "Jason/Lucia/both die"? Why should I invest in this romance (time and emotionally) only to watch it burn because "it's so dark and edgy"? That sounds like bad writing to me...
  • Death makes no sense and is cheap (as a default). Now perhaps if the wrong choices (or right- your game) are made and the romance is neglected, or someone screws over the other, MAYBE there is an option to betray one of them. On its own though (as a default part of the story), it is lazy, brain-dead writing. It's a twist you can see a mile away. Again- every YouTuber who has seen the trailers and played some GTA V has already put their "theory" that Lucia betrays Jason. Some even think she cheated because she "hugged DreQuan too long." This is just how a team of idiots writes a story- idiots Ubisoft wouldn't hire.
    • This also flies in the face of the CORE of the game. Every song in the trailers is a love song. Every single trailer is about love. The biggest and most complex system is the romance/partnership system. Why go against the very core theme and story of the game for a cheap twist that the dumbest people on earth can see coming? Again- AS A DEFAULT
  • Bonnie and Clyde. To be clear, Rockstar never said this was a Bonnie and Clyde story. Any story about a couple that does crime is "Bonnie and Clyde"; however, Rockstar never stated it was an influence at all. The game is NOT coming out on the anniversary of a robbery or death or anything. Even if Bonnie and Clyde were an influence, it says nothing. Scarface influenced GTA VC, and did Tommy die?

To me, it is clear that there are multiple endings, though this is not confirmed by Rockstar (so I am making an educated guess). As they focus on immersion and player choice, it would be weird to suddenly turn away from multiple endings, which existed 13 years ago.

I love Panam from Cyberpunk- do you all love her? I mean, what a cool character. Ride or die, loyal, capable, and smart. Yet this connection we (V) feel with her comes from a 5 missions (get her truck, take down AV, save Saul, steal tank, other tank stuff). Outside of the "apartment hangouts" where the same 5 lines of dialogue ALREADY IN THE ALDECADO ENDING are repeated, there is nothing else. We feel THAT connected from 5 missions.

Or Mass Effect for the old heads. Who did you go with? I loved Tali and Liara. Yet it's based on a few cutscenes and conversations at most.

Imagine now that you can do all the gigs and other missions in Cyberpunk with Panam. You had a strong connection to her, right? Even stronger than before.

Now imagine an alternate reality where Panam dies in every ending. That would suck. It would suck with the 5 missions Panam we have; it would REALLY suck if she was there for everything at V's side. Imagine you dump in 20-30 hours to "dating". You do robberies, learn their backstory, and really come to be fans of both of them. You root for them; you feel a connection. You see yourself in each of them. Then- they die. That is not earned, that is not deep, that is not fun- that is sadism.

A happy ending isn't bad, and if anyone can do it, it is Rockstar. It would be a mature ending, not "kiddo stuff". An ending that shows what 2 people can do with a capable, loving, dependable partner. A counterpoint to how we view gender dynamics in the US. Right now it's cheap, vapid, disposable dating culture with podcasts attacking men and women. GTA would push against that narrative and be special for it.

In summary, there are 2 options

  1. If they do a "RDR ending" and the only change is the cutscene, then they BOTH LIVE. If you had high romance, they stay together; if you didn't, they split up. This would be fine
  2. WAY MORE LIKELY: There are 3, 4, 6, or 10 endings. With criminal profiles, romance meters (or status), and story decisions, you are put into the ending you want/earned. One of them is a happy ending. Now it's not some perfect ending- they will take a beating- but they live on. Maybe friends and mentors die or betray them.
  3. Lucia won't betray Jason (or the other way around) as a baked-in part of the story. This is speculation, but what is Rockstar doing if this happens? "Oh hey Rob, let's build this crazy expensive complex romance tech in a GTA game and make romance the core of the game and get players invested. Then let's enrage them and totally undermine that to pull off the most obvious twist ever"
    1. Again, it COULD happen if there are 10 endings, but it won't happen as a default part of the story.

A lot of this is speculation. I am curious what the temperature is. It appears everyone thinks someone HAS to die and that betrayal HAS to come from Lucia (or Jason). I think this is just kinda dumb given what we know about the game. GTA games are never miserable. They are not Cyberpunk. They are not positive, but they are FUN. You walk away having had a great time, a good ending, and you say, "They did it again."

3 final notes

  • The plot summary officially reads, "When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive".
    • I mean the actual description is saying they can make it out alive by relying on each other. That is an offical Rockstar statement. It could be misdirection, but this is the plot summary on the back of the box (with no disc)- so while vague, it's not a lie.
  • They could kill 1 and then add a new character, but people don't like that. It kinda worked once in RDR, but that is differant. I like Jason- the ex-Ranger who is stoic. Or Lucia for... reasons. Imagine if Trevor died and was replaced with Ron. Also, in V there were 3 leads- here there are 2, so losing one is half of the game. It's cyberpunk with no Silverhand. I don't want to play as some 3rd character I don't know. THERE IS NO ONLINE, so there needs to be an "endgame" post-credits, and one with both protagonists is best.
  • The launch trailer for GTA V and RDR2 actually covers the story. Take RDR2, where Arthur is fighting back against Dutch's "one last heist" thing and saying, "he will die for this gang". The GTA 6 launch trailer keeps saying, "If we stick together, we will make it through this," all while a song goes on about how love is reliable and they will see the sun rise another day.

A lot of this is speculation, but I am not making up some wild story based on a screenshot. I am taking a look at the systems, what matters to Rockstar, what the inspiration is, and then going from there. I am curious what the temperature is. It appears everyone thinks someone HAS to die and that betrayal HAS to come from Lucia (or Jason). I think this is just kinda obvious that it won't end that way, but I would love to know your thoughts. Yes, I am stuck in bed wishing they had launched on Oct 19th, but I digress. Also, the grammar isn't great- my coordination and brain are in tough shape. Apologies.

Screenshot this and let's see in a month- if I am here.
